On this topic, my T (and it can be mighty) cycles from one or two very quiet days (practically nil) and when she comes back it's 10/10. Then settles the next day usually to a 7 followed by a quiet day or 2 - but not always this exact pattern.
If I wake without T on those days and don't get up (this can be a 4-7 hour sleep,
The T will usually start up if I nap for an hour after waking quieTly. So I force myself up, groggy as hell to capture a quiet day...usually. It can decide otherwise on some days and creep in anyway (the bitch). Of course extreme anxiety keeps it going like when it first started and I wound up in hell for months.
Something about sleep and waking chemicals in brain pushes T into action for me on some kind of on/off cycle of a few days. The return T day is like some stored up brain chemical that gushes the floodgates of noise.
It rarely happens when awake. I def can't sleep late or there is no mercy.
My body trembles on those bad days, but as I sit here basking in silence, I hope for peace in the long run for me and all of you on this forum.

I had a low T for 25 years, then several acoustic tramas like a blank gun near my left ear and stage feedback from working in music for my entire life, and then a sinus problem combined with some pain meds I needed at the time kicked it off about 6 months ago. I'm sure it didn't help riding my loud Harley motorcycle with custom musician earbuds that totally seal in your ear listening to music a little loud for years as well.
Having T is one hell of a ride. I'm in a quiet cycle right now. By Holloween I'll be a scary mess. It returns with a vengeance over night and slowly exits over 2 days, creeping down by day 2 and on day 3 I'm a new man...if my anxiety doesn't ruin my day.

How about you Sandra?

Just keep the hope that if it can get to the point where it can be so low for a couple of days there must be a way for it to be like this all the time. Perhaps one day, someone with the proper decoder ring will solve the puzzle. Until then, do what you do and live life!

Exactly how I feel. If it can get louder and quieter then it can change. And something occurs to make this change happen. Eventually someone will figure it out and will know how to keep it low... Or a cure might even happen before this intermediate step. Either way, I think it shows promise.

No one has figured out what is causing the cyclic tinnitus? I've had it for 7 years and still can't go over 2 days without tinnitus. You can feel it building up on the second day and know you'll have it upon waking on the third, or if you fall asleep on the second. Doesn't anyone have a doctor who cares enough to figure this out? Absent a full-fledged miracle, I think it's IMPOSSIBLE to stop the cycle or someone would have figured this out by now!

Me too. Cycles down to "don't care levels for anything up to three days (at best) then roars back for (usually) two full days, then just settles again. No rhyme or reason I can think of.

My Tintus comes and go like the other members here. 2 days off 1 days on. I have it know for one year . When i go to sleep my tinitus went away. When my tinitus its on when i go to sleep it when silent. Very strange. THANK GOD. I dont have problems to sleep because my tinius is going quiet when i go to bed. Have any one the same experience?

I am 7 months in. In the last month or so I have had a 3 quiet day run, a 5 quiet day run, and am 8 day quiet run. I am currently doing TRT for about 4 months. I hope these good day runs are a good sign. It is so frustrating when it keeps coming back and changing.
