Has Anyone with Low Frequency Tinnitus Tried IV Circulation Enhancers and Steroids?

I have low frequency, low humming, buzzing tinnitus for a week and it's very loud. I got prescribed Nootropil (Piracetam) and Betarevin (Betahistine) for circulation. The doctors told me that the protocol contains IV infusions of blood enhancers, but they would not suggest it for me, because my tinnitus is not high-pitched, not tonal, and seemingly not from an acute loud noise trauma and they havent really seen people who got better from the IV infusion.

Any thoughts? If I'm trying to wait out for like two weeks if my tinnitus subsides on its own, can it be too late for an IV?

Hi, I have similar, low frequency ring like a tuning fork being waved around my right ear. I've never heard if I.v circulation enhancers before. Very interesting!

Did you get an mri yet? You might have the same problem as me, anterior inferior cerebellar artery loop compressing the cochlear nerve. Do you get relief when you apply pressure on the area directly below the earlobe? I'm guessing a fault in circulation somewhere is causing this.

Please let me know how you go after the I.v treatments, I'd be really keen to try it myself if you get some good results.

I have had very severe hyperacusis and mild tinnitus (not very bothersome so far, although sometimes spikes) and all I can say is that there is no medication that really helped more than fruit, tea, and anti oxidants. When I have a pill or a certain medication is just to stop worrying to think "I did all in my hands" but the pills do not really fix anything. There is no medication to effectively treat tinnitus or hyperacusis, or to relieve hearing damage.

If you search, you will see lots of vitamins and products for tinnitus, with all sort of names, every year pharma companies and supplement companies create new ones, but they dont work, they are expensive and useless.

I am not sure. In my country (Hungary), after a noise trauma or 'no-clue' tinnitus onset, people tend to get IV circulation enhancers (Nootropil (piracetam) and Cavinton) with steroids. It's supposed to help in the first couple of days/weeks from onset. Many people claim it doesn't help and sometimes make T worse, many said that it helped. The ENT, I saw, told me flat-out, that it won't and people like to go in to hospitals to get these IV infusion to calm themselves and feel like they are doing at least something. But what I don't get that if that's this unnecessary why do ENTs keep prescribing piracetam in tablet forms...
I asked this because since I've been on this forum (I'm lurking here a lot, due to lack of any sleep, I have a lot of time for worrying and browsing the internet), I haven't really seen that this IV Infusion thing is common in other countries.
