Not a big deal but I want to make sure whatever antibiotic I get isn't ototoxic. Any ideas?

I had 2 moles removed late last summer/early fall. One was a basel cancer mole. They gave me a one week antibiotic named cipro. I don't think it's related but my tinnitus started a couple months after but I believe its stress induced.

yea it would probably have started sooner. Was the procedure painful?

Cipro is one of the nastier antibiotics so I wouldn't be surprised , I don't actually know if it is The related , I think its got a black box label on it though

Cipro gifted me with tinnitus. It is know to downregulate gaba receptors and absolutely causes t.

when they shaved it off, it wasn't bad. when i came back for stitches, being poked to numb the procedure wasn't fun since they stuck me 8 or so times in a circle around the area. i couldn't feel anything from the procedure. after the novocaine wore off the later, i was sore for a few days. the one from my side hurt more than the one from my temple.

@JRchief
It is a real possibility that your tinnitus is due to the cipro. A delayed onset is not unusual (from what I have read).

well i listened to loud music back in the 90s in college and i have measurable hearing loss at 8k hertz and above. i can also silence my T completely by covering my ears. i have a separate thread about that hoping to find anyone who can relate as i figured it was common.
