Have You Had Any Audiological Testing with Pain Hyperacusis (Noxacusis)?

I want to have a tympanometry or any other ear tests done now, but scared it will make things worse with pain hyperacusis.

I'm not sure what's involved in these types of tests. Whether it's to check the middle ear function, have a regular hearing test or an extended one, or to do any other types of tests they can do to assess damage to the ear.

Has anyone else had any of these types of tests done and how did it go?

I would steer clear of tympanometry.

I had the tests you mention and had no problems. They are essential procedures when a person is seen at ENT with tinnitus.
I've had a hearing test already, minutes after the ear cleaning that caused my tinnitus and hyperacusis 7 weeks ago, but the other tests I'm more concerned with and the fact that an ENT caused this is reason for concern with any other tests.

Before having your ears cleaned did you apply olive oil eardrops 3x a day to each ear for 10 days? If you were not told to do this before having the wax removed, this can cause tinnitus and hyperacusis to develop. Perhaps it's best not to have anymore tests done and give your ears time to heal.

No, I didn't. Yes, I know. I'd rather not dwell on what I should have done. I didn't know these things and it's too late to go back and do these now. Biggest regret of my life was having this ear cleaning and not googling things beforehand.

I was not blaming you. The person that did the procedure is at fault not you. Hopefully your ears will improve with time.

It made no difference to me. I used eardrops religiously for almost 2 weeks before the ENT visit, but the microsuction earwax removal still caused extensive damage to my hearing.

If it makes you feel any better, snap! I too, didn't apply oil. I wasn't told otherwise and even after raising my concerns with the 'audiologist' I was assured it was the safest form of removal. I too, heavily regret it and desperately wish I could turn back the hands of time x
