Health Tools to Recover Faster from Tinnitus

so you're still improving greatly?
True. I would had minimized or even eliminated T in a much shorter time but I didn't had the tools back then. I had to do the research by myself which took around 6 months.

The best thing to do to recover faster is to control your blood sugar.

You can do that by Fasting, low carbs diet, lower stress.

Just to play devils advocate, is it not equally possible that it is just improving with time? I ask the question as I have done nothing special - other than to avoid noise - and the amplitude of mine has slowly, but significantly diminished over the past year. Had I been doing something in particular, I may have associated the two, but there would have been no way to tell if it was time, or the "something" that had resulted in benefit.

You are 100% right. My goal was and is to accelerate recovery. Let's point out that My T has been severe and I couldn't imagine I would recover in a 2 years span.

Additionally, I am doing this for my overall health but surely time play a role also.

@joseph Ghass May I ask you if your T was noise induced?

Well done. glad you're feeling better. I did some fasting, which would be relatively easy for me. I don't know if it will also improve my H, for this I have a doubt.

I didn't know about ketogenic diet and what you say, can make sense. This diet was meant for epileptic people to reduce their seizures, and people here on TT have tried some AEDs... to reduc their T.

It could be, lately I have been eating high fat food (homemade) and I don't know if it was linked to temporary reducing my T.

Congrats dude, let's hope you'll reach the 1/10 T or maybe completely be free :).

Hi sara, my condolences to the victims of the terror attack in nice.

Yes, it was noise induced as I have hearing loss in high frequencies in one ear.

I contacted the lead researcher in ketogenic diet dominic dagostino and he said to me that controlling blood glucose will help tinnitus. And the best way to do it is by fasting or cutting carbs, keto diet.

Currently I do 20/4 intermittent fasting combined with ketogenic diet and long term fasting like 1 day, 2 days up to5 days, training 3 days a week, cold showers, sauna, meditation.

I recently read research by Valter Longo at USC that showed neurogenesis on day three of his 'fast mimicking diet'. MS patients improved. I don't know how to post a link, but the science is solid. Google fmd diet or Valter Longo.

There is some info on pubmed about this actually.

I'm sure everyone has seen this. The someone lines up. The cynic in me finds it hard to believe that cutting sugar will totally heal severe tinnitus over time, however there are many benefits to low carbing - which I have done multiple times in my life with great results.

If your severe T is caused (or contributed) by high BS (and by that I mean blood sugar!), then it would make sense that cutting sugar would help, right?
It's all about the root cause(s)...

Guys, it is not in a sense the blood sugar spikes, it is the inflammation caused by this.

When you control your blood sugar, you control insulin spikes. Insulin is a storage hormone when it is down, you will start burning fat for energy. Inflammation goes down.

Really interesting stuff @joseph Ghass , thank you for sharing all this.

So what do you actually think is actually happening in your body that has resulted in you recovering.

is it low blood pressure? or are you healing your auditory nerve/hair cells/ nerve fibers?

Have noticed any change in your cognitive functioning?

Thanks man, 1.5 years researching this.

Yes, I believe that not only hearing loss contribute to tinnitus, it is multiple factors. For instance, I know many people with hearing loss that doesn't experience tinnitus.

If your body get inflamed (for multiple reasons) and you have hearing loss, your chances to develop tinnitus will increase. Adding to that high blood pressure, Uncontrolled blood glucose (Spiking your glucose many times a day), etc..

The first thing to do when you get tinnitus, is to get into an anti-inflammatory diet. The ketogenic diet is the best tool to beat inflammation in your body and your brain because you are controlling your blood glucose most of the time.

Fasting for the body = healing. the more you fast, the more your body has the ability to heal itself.

Most of the time, there is no single cause for T, it is a combination of factors to contribute to Tinnitus. Addressing these factors will help in minimizing your T.

AS for cognitive performance, when you are in ketosis, you feel like you are a predator ready to jump on a prey! Focused, sharp all day long. The reason behind it is the production of more ATP in the brain compared to running on glucose.

Lower your inflammation, control your blood glucose, regulate your blood pressure and your T will get better.

Joseph, this post prompted me to sign up on TTalk.. over a year with T and, through journaling and observation (goes without saying) I noticed that my T would spike about 20 minutes after eating. So I did some reseach (I had known for some time that diabetics sometimes have T,) and discovered that blood sugar levels can affect the inner ear.. 'The inner ear, like the brain, is totally without energy reserves. Its metabolism depends directly on the supply of oxygen and sugar (glucose) from the blood supply. Alterations in glucose metabolism therefore have great potential for disturbing the workings of the inner ear. The researchers in this study referenced previous studies showing that between 84 and 92% of tinnitus patients were shown to have a metabolic disorder called hyperinsulinemia.' (Arches website 'Keytones, Sugar Metabolism and Tinnitus' article) So this got me to thinking that I may possibly have this disorder or high blood sugar. I am currently awaiting the results of a metobolic blood sugar blood test. To my knowledge I do not have diabetes, nor is it in my family. But, when you think about it, it is actually quite crazy how much sugar (hidden to most ignorant of it's existence in refined flour, etc.) Americans consume everyday (who are not aware.) our bodies are amazing machines and have the tools to offset high glucose levels but this function over time may stop working as effectively. So anyone can possibly start having metobolic disorder even though they dont eat high levels of sugar- It may just be a matter of time. I jave been off/on Paleo diet and am researching ketogenic diet. And by the way, be your own advocate on this T recovery journey and listen to your body.. I spent $500 dollars on a supposedly 'T Specialist' who didnt tell me what I already know..
