Here is a good article recently published by some well known researchers within the Tinnitus field. It highlights the lack of government funding worldwide, the large market potential for hearing loss and tinnitus research, and the private funding ventures as well.

It also has a cool list of what experimental treatments have been (or are being attempted) in the clinical realm.

Very interesting. I always wondered how much money Matteo De Nora injected in tinnitus research. 12 million €. Not bad. They talk only about drugs though. Nothing about neuromodulation and HIFU for example. I wonder why.

If you don't mind i will post it on the other board.

EDIT: the IF of those biology journals are incredible.

Nearly 100 research projects by the TRI thanks to the 12 million € from the founder (and the 60 $ from this forum). No bad. Not enough but not bad. That should be better known i think. I recall a very retarded online discussion i had with the president of a French patient organisation which shall not be named. She insisted that the TRI had no project and was very suspicious about giving them money. No comment.

I think the caroverine injection is only available in certain countries, like Switzerland and India. We have a specific thread dedicated to it, but I don't know if much of a consensus was ever reached.
