Hello,

Please only answer if you have had a high-frequency hearing test. I wonder how many people have tinnitus with no hearing loss, and how many people have tinnitus with hearing loss.

I believe what you are asking is:

Answer "Tinnitus with hearing loss" if HL > 25 dB for >8 kHz
Answer "Tinnitus with no hearing loss" if HL <= 25 dB for 0 to 16 kHz

Do not answer if only a standard audiometric assessment was performed.

I don't know where else to post this, but this topic seemed the most suitable.

In a visual snow survey I created, I asked how many people with tinnitus also have hearing loss.

Out of around 21 participants, including myself, only two had confirmed hearing loss.

In case you don't know, visual snow occurs with tinnitus in about 70% of patients. Either we all have hidden hearing loss, or you don't need hearing loss to have tinnitus, at least in some cases.

Watching one of Dr. De Ridder's videos, he theorized that the braking mechanisms are defective in people with tinnitus who don't have hearing loss.

I don't know if any of the hearing restoration treatments will help people like us in the future. Maybe for us, the issue is related to other mechanisms such as KCC2, HCN2, or Kv7. But if the issue lies in the CNS, HCN2 won't help, since it doesn't reach the brain, right? Then we have to try potent KCC2 or Kv7 treatments to see if they help at all.

Please, somebody, help all of us.
