I've had tinnitus for around 5 years, it's there all the time although there have been moments in the past when it's not been quite as noticeable (mainly when busy in my daily business). I find it's worse in the evenings when sat 'trying' to relax watching a bit of tv. At this moment it's a prominent hissing tone in my head. I find it's not good to focus on your long term reality and just beat it on a daily basis.
Stay strong in your mind, although it's there loud and clear all the time, don't let it beat you. Stay hopeful that one day the cure will come. I basically just tell it I'm the boss, I know your there but you won't beat me... EVER! I just have to keep refocusing on whatever I'm doing. It's there when I go to bed, it awakes me in the morning. Thankfully I can get to sleep as I block it out.
Incidentally I came across Sonus Complete and thought it sounded like a miracle cure. I tried a months supply (6 capsules left) and it's had zero impact on my tinnitus. I've renamed it Sonus Complete Shite! I find having a sense of humour can help. Stay strong people.
