Tinnitus Since

Cause of Tinnitus
Probably loud power equipment/loud music
My TINNITUS (capital letters because it's f$#%ing loud, are we aloud to cuss in here?) started a few months ago but really only got it's legs under it about 3 weeks ago so I'm still in the stages of 'maybe there's a small tumor that needs removed' or 'lipoflavonoid is gonna make it go away'. Coming to the grips that I may be hearing this hiss the rest of my life is jaw droppingly difficult. It's mainly only In the left ear, I have a small scab in that ear that will not heal no matter what I do.

When I clinch down with my teeth it gets louder and when I straighten up my neck posture sometimes it gets better. I also suffer from pretty severe Hyperacusis and also have crackling and popping and roaring in my ears when I yawn burp or move my jaw weird. Sometimes I will have this horrible spasm/cramp in my jaw that will just about make me pee my pants. I'm falling apart guys and I just turned 31 a few days ago. Had a horrific back Injury last spring (bulging disc between l4 l5 still have nerve pain in hip and legs from time to time) and last fall got so sick for 3 months I thought I was dying from some kind of stomach cancer only to find out after going from 235ibs to 175ibs that I developed a gluten and dairy intolerance.

The tinnitus has just been the icing on the cake for what has been a terrible year for me. My wife tries so hard to help me but there is nothing she can do. I can cry at the drop of a hat right now I am so sensitive. Life is almost becoming too much. I'm in the process of quitting cigarettes hoping that if it doesn't help with my ear problems maybe it will at least help with my crippling medical anxiety. Oh and I've had horrific depression and anxiety since I was a young child. Can anything or anyone help me?

Make sure your getting support with your anxiety with talking therapy and maybe medicaltion.
Tinnitus comes with lots of unwanted emotions as the sound invades our lives.
Keep relaxing music on around you and maybe see your dentist to see if you have TMJ.

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear your struggle with these tough symptoms. Besides TMJ, you may want to read up on TTTS as you have hyperacusis, cracking, tinnitus. crippling anxiety etc. These are symptoms of TTTS. Google it as there are many articles on this like this one below. Take care. God bless.

Hey man, very sad to hear your story. It doesn't seem like it but i think things will get better as long as they dont get worse. There are many things you can do to make sure it doesn't get worse which you will find info on here about. The thing that came to my attention though is the scab you mentioned. Iv had similar flakey ears for a while now, nothing major but sometimes when i mess about picking it i get a fluid that seeps into my ears. When i went to the doc about my T she looked in my left ear (the worse one) and said my ear drum was scarred. Im wondering now if the fluid that comes sometimes has been doing some damage? i never bothered too much about it as it was/is very minor issue unless i pick at it. Im going to try and clear it up with some cream, and I'm thinking apple cider vinegar might clear it up if nothing else works. Maybe you could try apple cider vinegar on your ear scab as well. Has to be the stuff with the 'Mother ' in it to get best results. Its can also potentially help your T and if you drink it it might help other issues as its anti inflammatory. good luck man sound like your having a rough time. Try to be strong and positive, take each day as it comes.

Also T doesn't always have to be forever. You will find the worst of the worst on the internet, many many people live to tell the tale they just dont go on the internet to tell it. Stay calm and maybe download some sound apps on your phone to mask over the ringing. Crickets work the best for me.

Hey dude, so sorry to hear of your distress. I too can relate to a lot of what you said. The anxiety and depression especially have increased with the tinnitus. As of right now I try to soothe myself to get me through the day. Low music while meditating helps to relieve the anxiety and a fan on at night while sleeping helps the insomnia.
You're not alone man.
Best wishes

Hey mate,

Funny enough I've had back issues too (office job), secondly I would guess a litttle anxiousnesss going on here , I know because You sound a lot like me and I would drive my mrs insane telling her I think I had all these awful conditions too only to find out it was in my head .

As for the hissing; yup.. ive has that and trust me... it gets better. At three weeks it's bound to sound loud.

With something like T it's easy to fall apart from it.

But I am 34 just a few years ahead of you and can say at only three weeks the odds are on your side ;) , so I would chill out and wait it out a little longer you may be pleasantly suprised.

Oh, and cut out the ciggies!
