Cause of Tinnitus
Loud concert
hello my name is Brody and i am new to this thread. I recently went to a concert and started with a ringing noise in my ears a couple of days later I started hearing a chirping or cricket sound in my ear. I've only had this sensation for about four days now. And I'm a little worried that this sound will never go away!

Hi mate. Get to an ENT as soon as possible as they may prescribe steroids which may help!

Some T can go away. Some will stay.
I also recently got t from a loud concert. But mine is permanent. It bothered me at first. But I don't notice it much now unless I'm in dead silence.

Thank you so much for you're reply. I recently visited my doctor and he checked my ears, and said that their was no damage. and if I kept on hearing the ringing sensation for more than 2 to 3 weeks to go back. Should I wait 2 -3 weeks to see if it goes away or should I head to an ENT asap?

No you should not wait, the only treatment has to be initiated early. Steroids (prednisone) can help some people, but don't help others. After 2-3 weeks a course of prednisone is basically useless.

Also there is absolutely no way your doctor could just look in your ears and tell if there was no damage. Even with the best medical technology for assessing hearing you cannot definitively say there is no damage.

Wear hearing protection from now on. It really does save you from A LOT of hassle later on. It wil make you much less vulnerable at the very least.

Don't over-do it with protection though. Mainly if you are around 70+dB that's when i would start to worry about protection.

Definitely do not wait as they can't see damage just by looking in your ear.
Steroids needs to be done asap if there is a chance at working.

Don't be afraid of ear protection either there is no risk to over do it / I'd say stay under 60db right after trauma and for a few months then slowly ease up

Hello just wanted to post a quick update. Well I just recently visited a ent and they told me everything was fine and my hearing was actually really good. The ringing in my ears have stoped completely but my ears are still really sensitive. I do hear a cricket or chirping noise off and on but other than that everything is turning out well.

Protect your ears and be patient
You will have to put up with those crickets for a few more months until fall perhaps

It just takes time to get better

There is a YouTube video with crickets that works good at masking it
