I found my way here like many others via. Tinnitus Terminator (scam).
Last few months driving me mad with ringing in the ear.
Waiting for a MRI scan from ENT but it's NHS - long wait and they don't seem that interested.
I have been researching ototoxicity and think the onset may be linked to my blood pressure tablets being increased from 5 mg a day now up to 20mg (10 of felodopine and 10 of ramipril).
Anyone here found any relationship with Tinnitus and medication?
Anyway I am going to stop taking ANY tablets for a while. I don't care if I die I don't want to live with this racket going on in my head all the time.
Anyway Best wishes all. I'll let you know if I find any improvement. If not you'll know I didn't make it
As a word of encouragement for those who are suffering.
About 8 or 9 years ago I lived in an industrial area and during the early mornings when I was awake but still in bed I could hear a sound like someone revving up an engine or a tractor.
I was convinced it was a local factory that ran a night shift.
I contacted them to ask what processes they were running and what machinery was making the noise.
They assured me that they ran no machinery at night.
Not trusting them I contacted the Local Authority to investigate. Their inspection confirmed there was no processes running during the night.
I went on holiday to rural France camping out in the country and the first morning I woke I said to my wife. "That b****dy engine driver has followed me all the way to France!"
That's when I knew I had tinnitus and the sound was in my head not external.
After about 6 months it disappeared and I have been free from any Tinnitus until recently but this is very different.
It can go just as it comes!
