Possibly stress
Hi all, I woke up on June 15th with pulsatile tinnitus. I have taken several hearing tests and all have shown that my hearing is in the normal range, and indeed I can hear all of the sounds I'm supposed to hear, but my hearing seems reduced. Has been for a few months, and no noticeable changes after taking Prednisone, Claritin and Flonase to try to treat this issue. My ENT scheduled an MRI but I cancelled it because I am afraid of how loud they are. I also do have regular tinnitus and have for 12 years, but my hearing is still normal. ENT thinks the onset of my tinnitus was stress induced.

I have requested an MRA, but the ENT is out of the office until August 23rd so I will have to wait to hear back from him for that.

I will say that there seems to be a lot of pressure in my head and around my ears. It's annoying, but I am managing to live with it. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so what was the cause if you found out? I am going to another audiologist on September 9th to do more testing.

Do you have chronic headaches?
It just feels like there is a lot of pressure in my head and down to the tip of my nose and even my front teeth. My ears also feel pressured. I can still hear birds chirp, and I can still hear everything I used to hear.

Sounds like it could be a sinus issue perhaps? Tension can also cause these things as it does with me sometimes.

My head feels like it's tingling or burning when I am out. I don't know if it's sinuses, tension or if hearing does this?
