Hi 😊

I developed a high-frequency tinnitus tone in my left ear at the beginning of February 2025 after months of issues with that ear. I also have sound sensitivity.

Over the past few days, I have noticed another noise in my left ear, which I can only describe as sounding like a lightsaber being waved around. It is not in sync with my heartbeat. Does anyone else have experience with this? It also makes me feel like my ear is vibrating.

As you can imagine, this is very scary, especially in the beginning. Any positive advice would be greatly appreciated.

My doctor prescribed Mirtazapine early on, but I am reluctant to take it because of the side effects and the possibility of worsening my tinnitus.

Thank you!

Yes, I'm having the same issue. The ENT says I have high-frequency hearing loss, described as "textbook," at 6,000 hertz in both ears. I'm not sure I fully believe it, but to be honest, this has been happening since I got the Covid shot.

I sometimes experience a similar sound, like a strange hum. I have had it for the past two years, but I am not sure what caused it. It happens along with my usual tinnitus sound.
