Hi folks. I guess like many others I'm here for some support. I'm scared.
I got problems in my left ear mid-March this year. I don't know what caused it, it arrived spontaneously. I have intermittent roaring, white noise and everyone sounds like a Clanger! It goes off a bit and then comes back . I saw an ENT doctor last week and he prescribed betahistamine in the hope it'll increase the blood flow. Yesterday I got dizzy (I had spells of "The Clangers" and some short lived dizziness on and off for a couple of years). The ENT doc said I have low frequency hearing loss, that seems to come and go though as today I can use the phone again.

I'm scared it's Ménière's but I know I need to wait for the MRI and there's hope that the tablets will work.
I was also wondering if there might be a link with my Psoriatic Arthritis. (I'm a bit of a wreck!).

Thanks for the opportunity to put this into words.

Take NAC, multivitamin & magnesium, minerals, omega3/6/9, alpha lipoic acid, creatine

I don't know anything about Ménière's disease. It would be good though to just live in the moment ( mindfulness ) . Try not to worry about the future mri results as the added stress is not going to help in any way.

Oh , and welcome to the forum!!!

'm scared it's Ménière's

Welcome to the forum. It is quite normal to be scared and nervous when we are hit with a new and intrusive tinnitus. In your case, if you have vertigo too, you may have Meniere's. I am not qualified to talk on that as I never experienced Meniere's. Our notable member @glynis may be able to help you if you do have Meniere's. Try your best to stay calm and positive and give it some time. This will keep the limbic nervous system and its fight or flight response off as when it is activated due to our stress and fear, our T will sound a lot more intense and worse. Take good care. God bless.

@The Doris
Sorry to hear about your recent struggles.
Billie has tagged Glynis who has been dealing with Menieres for around 14 years. Hopefully she'll respond soon but will be able to offer you some advice / support.
Try to stay calm and don't panic. It's easier said than done, but it really is key when dealing with this condition.

@The Doris,
Welcome to Tinnitus Talk.
You have been put on a good medication for dizziness and hope it helps you.
Meniere's can take a year or two to diagnose as they need to rule out other problems but It would be a good Idea to jot down any problems.
Betahistine,Buccastem and Proclorperazine are the first line of defence along with reducing salt .
Let me know how you are getting on and try not to worry about Meniere's or google it up for now.
Love glynis x
