Hi I'm Jake and work as an outdoor instructor in the UK and live onsite with other people.
I am around lots of people and children each day.
I didn't realise that this forum was here for a long time, and its nice to read other stories and thoughts on tinnitus, and how thinking about the immediate effect of the noise can have an effect on the pain.
I sometimes get tinnitus in one ear worse than the other.
I wear earplugs sometimes which is a great relief, and can hear people as long as they are not talking quietly.
I do prefer it without them, however I find that I'm constantly on high alert all the time so that I can be ready to cover my ears with my fingers quick if I need to. Especially when I'm around loud crashes or next to people who can cough loud. I always remember who gets a cold now
