How Could One Cover Up Peltor X4A Muffs' Chartreuse Color?

Has anyone figured out a way to cover up that color?
I'm late to this one and I assume the Sharpie has worked. I painted mine with black acrylic paint and it's held up for a couple years just fine. I think I might faint if I Sharpied them, but I am sensitive to smells like that!

I just bought the Peltor X3As that come in red so might have to paint that too, although they are not anywhere near as bright as the Day-Glo green of the X4As!
