How Do You Clean Your Ears?

With my fingertips while in the shower. No Q-tips, no other kinds of foreign objects are allowed inside. Haven't had any infections / other issues with my ears my entire life. A little bit of wax is actually good to have inside your ears -- if I remember right it has anti-bacterial properties and its natural flow to the outside of the ear helps clear out other debris that may have ended up inside the ear.

(Unless, of course, you have a case of abnormal wax build-up. Then I'd check with a doc)

I use sodium bicarbonate ear drops. A few drops every week does the job. T gets waay louder if they get blocked.

You can't clean wax from your ears properly it needs to be done professionally. Prodding your ears with things like cotton wool buds only pushes the wax further down your ear canal. Also using other methods can give you an ear infection. And we all know what ear infections can cause!!

Hey, how do you guys clean the wax from your ears?

HI Tonia. Same as spingee. Ive only used it 3x times and my better ear did not seem to like it (or maybe it was due to anxiety with the spray action inside my ear, it just didnt feel comfortable spraying it against my ear drum). I couldn't find olive oil drops and I think got a bit desperate :/

To check wax build up in my ears, I have a video otoscope and can see inside my ear canals for myself without relying on ayone else.. It was pretty cheap but does an amazing job. Really clear picture. If the wax builds up too much I know a couple of audiologists who can safely remove it with a jobson horne under a microscope. No syringing or microsuction.. No noise. Perfect.

I use olive oil drops then a rubber ear syringe with warm water and gentle pressure. It do it as carefully as possible and haven't had any problems so far. Still, I should cut down on how often I do it.

Where
Did you get that? Would be good to check myself rather than having to book a gp appointed to check for wax.

So for remove wax is important to use lukewarm water?
Because i have read that introduce water in ear (with a syringe or something like that) can lacerate eardrum.

I have noticed that when i introduce a liquid drops in my left ear,it plug and the liquid remains inside for hours.
How could i dry my ears inside???

I got it from ebay. Mine was made by Andonster and works really well. I can see my ear canal and eardum clearly for myself without relying on others. But you have to be disciplined or you can get a bit paranid checking your ears every time you get a bit a of an ache or something. I try to only check for wax build up every few weeks or couple of months to avoid wax getting too bad and then having to get it microsuctioned or syringed instead of removal by Jonson horne.

I had a blockage in december and could barely hear out of my t ear. A couple of weeks of drops cleared it up, i would never risk syringing again.

May get one of those otoscopes, thanks.

Get Audiclean and a syringe and do it gently . When syringing make sure you point the bulb up a little so you are not blasting your ear drum.

Also, make sure you use lukewarm water to prevent getting dizzyness.

Olive oil, sodium bicarbonate or Audiclean is all good safe ways of softening earwax , the syringe will help flush it out.

Hope this helps !

So is necessary use syringe to remove ear wax?
When i use the drugstore's drops,my left ear literally close / plug.
I never tried to use syringe of water when ear are close / plug..
Probably the ear wax in my left ear is more than the right one and with drops (liquid) it expand.

It's not necessary but I believe it can help combined with ear drops. The drops make the wax easier to dislodge and the spray helps move it out :) , here is a safe spray that I tried :

It doesn't spray directly but rather ok the side of the ears so you do not damage your ear drum .

I rinse my ear canals every other day with soft, clean warm water using a small flexible plastic cup.
ear wax isn't actually wax it's water soluble so warm water will dissolve it and warm water evaporates quickly unlike oil which can remain inside and collect dirt and dust.

Make sure to shake your head on the side to flush out the water and dirt and that is it- job done it takes just a few seconds .

Our ears were designed to be cleaned with water I don't see why all this ear cleaning procedure needs to be that complex.

Use drugstore drops with glycerin 1 time at week is safe for ears?

Hot water bottle put near ear could soften ear war only with heat?

I think thar is safe/better not to use warm water inside ear but lukewarm water.
Warm water maybe could burn ear inside
