How Do You Know If Sounds Are “Ear-Damaging Loud” or Just “Hyperacusis Loud"?

Who told you that ? It's seems a bit risky 80 Db is already quite loud....not sure what ldls even means in this context

Most average cars are 80db at cruising speed? If that's the case every time you drive your car your at risk of hearing damage? When I say 85db for each situation I mean it peeked at 85db,it wasn't consistently 85db.

Unless they cut your ears open to check how much is damaged no one knows really how much noise they can handle going forward. so that's why I am not expecting anyone to give me an accurate estimate on safe noise levels.

I couldn't agree more,it all just puts my head in a twirl.A friend of mine developed T after using a chainsaw for too long without protection,4 rock concerts and numerous rock shows(he's in a band himself)and his T has never gotten worse! He still uses the damn chainsaw without protection and he just doesn't seem to be affected?I just can't understand it.

Maybe age plays a role here Too

that does not make sense - agreed

When I was your age..25 years ago, just thinking about what we did in terms of noise exposure back then..and with no consequences whatsoever at that time..

seriously, if you have no hearing loss under 8khz and can hear fine up to 17khz I wouldn't worry too much..you may have "anxiety T" which seems the most common cause on these forums
