How long did it take for your T to become stable?

(I know that some T is stable from onset, and that some fluctuates all the time, so the question is for people whose T has become stable over time). :)

Mine took about a year or so for me to get over it, the anxiety of it still continues but I'm getting better at dealing with it .

I think I've had the lot, including sound sensitivity , but time truly help.

As someone with T, H, and "reactive T" or "distorted hearing". 8 months in and nothing. I could easily habituate to the constant T I hear, and probably have to a great extent. But how can you habituate to everyday sound producing pitches and tones which are abnormal and annoying? How can you habituate to music sound horrible and making you feel horrible? And I, someone whose life was devoted to music now avoid music as much as possible, and that in itself is painful, but even when you go in a store, and they have that crappy music playing, and you hear those stupid crappy reactive T tones over top of it, how do you habituate to that?

Agree with SS. T stability is myth for many here. I believe's Michael's T of many years has an inordinate range from quiet to intrusive. Mine is up and down 8 mos. in from mild to moderate. My H is relatively stable or seems so....in the mild to moderate range. Loud noise like fire trucks hurts my ears and plates on a granite countertop are pretty intense. My ears also vary in blockage and in pain which even affects ETD in my case I believe. Today, my left ear where most of tinnitus emanates from, it feels blocked. Didn't yesterday. Tomorrow is another a day.
Tinnitus could be more properly renamed 'lottery'.

What we can control somewhat is our interpretation to what is almost expected as the variable nature of T. Early adopters don't do well with spikes. They freak out and makes it worse. Those that have been at this longer take the spikes in stride like riding a bucking horse as they are more confident they will settle which they generally do. A lower anxiety level promotes reduction in T....a synergistic relationship.

2.5 years since onset and not yet stable, but it doesn't vary as much as it used to. I hope given more time it will stabilise, but based on progress so far, I expect it to be at least another year yet.
