As per title. My tinnitus varies a lot. It fluctuates a lot. It's like a not so high-pitched wave sound that oscillates. To give an idea, every 1 or 2 seconds the wave goes up and then down. I also have a feeling that my tinnitus moves constantly inside my head.

1) Is it a common kind of tinnitus?
2) White noise does not help as I perceive the oscillation anyway. Do you guys have any tips?

EDIT: by fluctuating I mean in frequency, that's what makes white noice useless. Every 1 or 2 or 3 seconds I hear a spike despite the white noise :/

Thanks a lot
Francesco

Very common and will level off and fade eventually. Tinnitus is zig zag, up and down, wavy, straight up, straight out.. maybe even straight down. Im sure it will stop being oscillating after some medicine or time.

Try some other sound enrichment other than white noise. I use this with the orange slider only or click the preset "Neural hack" https://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/neuromodulationTonesGenerator.php

I use it + white noise for sleep. The only sound that gives me relief from my high freq tinnitus. It's not about blocking out the sound for me, because it's impossible. It's about drawing your attention to the external sound

My tinnitus is very high pitched and the tone is constantly changing, but not the frequency

@Francesco how are you now? Mine is like this at the moment and I'm finding it so hard to cope.

Back after a few years. Nothing has changed.
Sorry to hear that.

So noises haven't got worse?

What about how it affects you? Are you more tolerant of the noises? Can you work, socialise and do things more now than you could during the early months from onset?
