So of course I managed to acquire the cold/flu right before I intended to get a shot. Just my luck!

Anyway, now that I have it, what is the best ways of treating both for someone who has tinnitus. What are certain medications we can take or have to stay away from in particular.

I have had a major headache for the last 24 hours but I have not dared to take anything for it. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cold and Flu aren't the same thing, know the difference https://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/cold-guide/flu-cold-symptoms#1

Yes I know this, but I am not quite sure what I have as I seem to have symptoms of both at the moment. Would you know then how to safely treat any of them?

You may want to try Kaloba (pills or drops) and NAC 600mg x 2 (morning and evening). The soonest you start it the better. It is very effective for colds and flu and very safe for tinnitus.

Use sea water spray as a nasal decongestant when needed.

I hope it helps.

Hugs to you. Crossing my fingers that this flu/cold does not worsen your T permantly.

I have heard that eating citrus is good: oranges, lemons ect. and also garlic as it is anti-inflammatory and kills bacteria.

And a nasal spray is a good idea I think.

I am going to try NAC tomorrow and just keeping my head down and rest as much as possible. Not very easy though when you also have a toothache (caused by the flu/cold) to go with it, and can't take any painkillers for it. Although I did just take some Tylenol. Hopefully it won't cause a reaction although I already think I hear something coming on. Luckily I only took 40% of the flu packet and not all of it.

Hi, Sandra: oranges, lemons and garlic do nothing for colds or flu, they are healthy, but that's all. We have plenty of them in Spain and traditionally we don't take them for colds. Well, nowdays probably younger people do (I'm 70) but you can drink orange and lemon juice and eat garlic in your food all the winter long and you still get colds. Two daily tea spoons(morning and evening) of magnesium chloride all year around will protect you from colds and flu, at least in my case, and when rarely I get a cold, I also take Kaloba+Nac for a quick cure, being all perfectly safe for our ears.

Best regards.

Maybe to some they wont work, but I know of a few people who turns to lemons and garlic to get over their flu/colds more quickly and they feel it works for them.

Go to the doctor and have a flu swab. It's a simple test. There is a significant difference between the cold and the flu. There are antivirals for the flu.
