Hi folks, I'm Luiz
, male, in my early forties.
I used to experience occasional ringing in my ears throughout life, but it would only last a few seconds and was easy to manage. I would simply close my eyes, sometimes put a finger in my ear, focus, and the sound would fade away almost immediately.
Then, about two and a half years ago, it changed. A constant high-frequency sound began in both of my ears, though it is more pronounced in the left one. It has been there 24/7 ever since. Needless to say, as everyone here knows, it has had a major impact on my mood, mental performance, and overall quality of life.
It's frustrating to see how little medicine currently understands or can do about it. The doctors I've seen seem to know even less than what I learned after just a few hours on this forum and using ChatGPT
Thank you all for contributing to this space. Here's hoping we find better treatments, and eventually a cure!
