I need to travel to NYC for a week for medical treatment (unrelated to tinnitus) and am looking for a hotel near the clinic on Central Park South. I suffer from hyperacusis and am concerned about the noise levels at hotels in this area.

I understand that high-floor rooms are generally quieter and less impacted by street noise, but I'm hoping for personal recommendations from others with tinnitus or hyperacusis who have stayed in central NYC and found their accommodations bearable.

Thank you!

Central Park South isn't quiet (as you know), but if you want to stay near the clinic, the Park Hyatt should be a good option. I've stayed at other Park Hyatt locations, and they always have quiet HVAC systems and good sound insulation. You'll hear some street noise, but it shouldn't be too bad if you book a room on a higher floor.

If you're okay with a longer cab ride, The Conrad Downtown is another quiet option. I've stayed there before, though it's been a while. The neighborhood is pleasant, and the hotel itself is quiet.
