Cause of Tinnitus
long term noise exposure (headphones), maybe some stress.
So as several of you probably know my hyperacusis has become so much worse. I now experience light/moderate aching and throbbing pain, pressure and fullness in my ears... even in silence.

What supplements or the likes can I try now for any potential relief? What other alternative treatments?

I have tried Curcumin. I also plan on taking Magnesium citrate.

I am also going to stock up on Vitamin B complex and Ginkgo biloba.

Maybe Vitamin D? I think I am lacking in that as I haven't been in the sunshine for about a couple of months now (90% of the time it's been grey outside).

What else?

Have a Vitamin D blood test. It will show you your current level.

If you take too much Vitamin D, it can be dangerous.

Nicotinamide Riboside is a good one to try. It's expensive though :( :(

Sea moss, it consist of 92 minerals, the body has 102 minerals.
It is a gel you can put into your smoothies :)

Also, Auro Liquid Gold purifies your water. Auro Liquid Gold provides 102 minerals your body needs. (I wish I had my own money to buy this :/)

@TheDanishGirl,

You might want to consider Chelated Magnesium instead of Citrate.

Magnesium Citrate can be used as a laxative and you might not want to take that regularly.

I have ear pain too and it concerns me that I have ear fullness and aching too. What is going on?!? :-(

Where can I buy that in Europe?

I take Magnesium Bisglycinate which I read is the best one.

I don't know what goes on with our ears, but something is very wrong :( But I am not willing to give up without a fight.

Green tea, dry fruits, garlic, onion, fish, fruit. Supplements do not add anything to a healthy diet and exercise. Sunbathe too.

Where do you buy that?

Can you tell that your ear pain is from certain noises or sounds? I can't. My left ear pain seems random or without a real identifiable link. However, my right ear seems like it might be from sounds but the last couple times, it didn't seem like the noises were excessively loud. Dog barking and an air tool coming off a tire plug were the only noises that I recalled being exposed to before the pain. There was a delay before the pain too which makes it so confusing.

I am so shocked that this pain is so bad. Why are my ears like this?!? :(

From a Danish webshop. I don't think they deliver outside of my country.

I don't think my ear pain is only triggered by noise cause it can hurt even in silence. Noise just makes it worse and then it turns into jaw ache and tension + a migraine like headache.

Doctor wants me on Pregabalin :( Damn! Why can't they understand that I don't want more pills.

I don't blame you for resisting that one. Look at the side effects! I don't even know what half of these mean but it doesn't look good:

· Angioedema

· Hypersensitivity

· Increased Risk of Adverse Reactions with Abrupt or Rapid Discontinuation

· Suicidal Behavior and Ideation

· Peripheral Edema

· Dizziness and Somnolence

· Weight Gain

· Tumorigenic Potential

· Ophthalmological Effects

· Creatine Kinase Elevations

· Decreased Platelet Count

· PR Interval Prolongation

Amitriptyline helps my hyperacusis but the side effects for that one aren't much better.

There are like 100+ potential side effects listed. It's literally just exchanging one trouble for another (or several).

I also wonder what the best magnesium to take. Anyone have any suggestions?
Mg gluconate seems to be the best option. Citrate forms of supplements tend to generally increase tinnitus, whereas I don't seem to have this with gluconate. I can't honestly say if it helps at all, but it can't hurt.

I am pulling this thread up again, as I am having a bad hyperacusis spike (that came about about a week after Pfizer COVID-19 shot).

Any suggestions what I could try to minimize the pain a bit?

@Christiaan suggested some supplements (and I thank you for that), but sadly they are hard to come across, and I have found no shop that sends them all to Denmark. I have a hard time browsing around as I have brain fog and trouble focusing due to the anguish, so what I need help with is a detailed shopping list of supplements I could try and what strength (milligrams). Like with links. They must be available on a web shop that delivers to Denmark.

Can anybody help with this?

Try iHerb.com - it ships to pretty much worldwide and has good prices and great selection.

Replying to say that I probably got ear sensitivity after my vaccine. NAC, Nicotinamide Riboside, B vitamins don't seem to make a difference, sadly.

I am also trying Noopept again, as it can supposedly increase your BDNF levels, but so far I've had no improvement.

I will report in a month. Noopept helps people with brain fog. I got it from Nootropics Depot, they ship to Europe.
