I've had tinnitus on and off for nearly as long as I can remember. I'm now 60.
Over the last few weeks I've noticed quite a spike but it didn't really upset me because I knew I could habituate again.

Now everything has changed and I don't know why. I just suddenly got what I can best describe as the sound feedback makes through a microphone when I hear certain frequencies.

My own voice sounds very weird and loud in my head, my ears feel bung and full. I'm just overwhelmed and I don't even want to leave my bedroom. I think I may have developed hyperacusis. I have an appointment with a GP on Monday but he's relatively new and I don't know him well.
I'm depressed and panicked feeling.

ps. I'm in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

@Geraldine Ann ,
Welcome to Tinnitus Talk.
It could be wax build up or glue ear or sinus problem or stress or BP.
Try your out of hours doctor if you need help before Monday.
Try get out doors for a walk or sitting in the sunshine can help lift moods.
You will get lots of support on here and make some lovely friends along the way.

I've had something similar happen to me. It comes and goes and it also freaks me out quite a bit, but for me I've noticed it has to do with congestion in the ears and sonuses, it makes sound vibrate weirdly in my experience which causes these feedback sounds
