Yes, I can mask with loud air purifiers. I have them throughout my house and they are on 24/7.

May I also ask, did you protect or take a more liberal approach to noise? It's really important to me I emulate whatever people who have gotten rid of distortion have done as well as I can.

I didn't wear plugs but I did try to avoid loud noises as much as was possible.

At the time, I was married to an emotionally abusive man who used to play music loud after my injury (additionally crushing because it was and is so distorted and music is the love of my life) and have the TV loud so I mostly just hid outside on my porch a lot and I live in a very quiet area so that helped. Desåote the ex husband related pretty consistent noise exposures, I still recovered the hyperacusis part of my hearing issues.
