Cause of Tinnitus
Fluid in ear
Hello again, for about a week my tinnitus was extremely quiet, I was hoping that it was going away.

But then about 3 days ago it got realllyyy bad. It just shot up, it got a little quieter, then quiet, then a little louder again.

I'm losing my mind here, I'm only 17 and I have a whole life ahead of me. I'm not letting this stupid tinnitus dictate it.

Can someone please shed some light into this??? Is there still a chance I'll recover???

The first couple months is an out of body experience. My experience with T was that it was up down all around and more. The whole thing is unbelievable, but it is. After time it did get better for me. But for you it can get better too. There is no timeline for T to get well. But you mentioned earwax you should read here about it, and look into a ENT to see if something going now.

Yes, ear wax can block out the normal background sounds that masks tinnitus. If your ear has wax blocking, it can make your tinnitus seem louder. See your ENT, and get it checked out, and removed if you have the wax in your ear, but insist that it's removed manually ONLY, No suction.

Good luck

Hey, I'm only 21 with T. Had it since 19. It isn't easy, but do understand, life can still be rad. There is a chance it will go away, either on its own or by finding and removing the cause. Sometimes however, when the cause is removed, the T is still permanent and can get quieter and louder at random. Get in to see some specialists and ask questions like "what is the cause" why so young? Is this normal?" "How do I protect my ears in the future?". Keep that positive attitude! Do NOT let it dictate you or what you do. I go to concerts, bars so on and so fourth. I just protect my ears. It's hard, like any problem, but manageable in most cases. We aren't here to glide through easily anyways.
