I Need Someone to Talk to Right Now. I Want to Kill Myself.

Please do call for help! A friend a family member...but do not take your life. Soon the panic attack will come to an end. Tinnitus is not easy but I am sure that you will be at a better place soon. It just takes some time...there IS light at the end of the tunnel. If you have to, please go see a doctor as soon as you can. If you are at home, there are some things that you can do to help you relax and start feeling better. Try a hot bath with some Epsom salts...bring a radio or whatever sound machines you have to help you mask. Have some chamomile tea... Pray, ask God to help you and give you peace, read the Bible... (it helps me tremendously.) Read through the success stories here and that should help you too... But please do not do anything crazy... your life is precious. We here in this group care for you...we are right here with you going through the same issues. I am glad you reached out.... it is a good step to getting better. I will pray for you now that God Almighty may give you peace, hope and strength...and that may you get some rest and sleep well tonight. Stay strong ok.

If you feel that bad go to your local emergency room at the hospital and they will give you some meds and calm you down..You will improve and get better with help. I felt like you monthes ago and now im fine believe me. I will promise you everything will get better with a little time....

Agree. Please go get some help. If not from a hospital, go to a safe space with someone you know... Trust me I've been there. Get some meds to help you...

For me, my panic attacks early on were helped with Ativan. This actually pre-dated my tinnitus, I had neuropathic pain of the face due to an injury to a nerve due to wisdom tooth extraction... which was honestly worse but I know the pain of a panic attacks oh so well.
Nobody can will good mental health. Good mental health is a function of balanced brain chemistry and anxiety over a condition outside your control robs this balance which you set back on course short terms with a benzo like Ativan or Xanax.
Don't needlessly struggle. See your doctor for help. No amount of self talk can keep you off the ledge.
You will find great relief in taking medication. Over time you will adjust to your condition and learn to cope with it and get your life back and your tinnitus will likely subside when you become less anxious.

You ask us if you should call for help? That's time wasted.., in stead of reading the answers you could have called many times.

@Frenger,
Sorry to hear you were having a frightening panic attack and felt like you needed help over the phone.

Samaritans, mental health, doctors,ENT,BTA advice line, are always easy to call by friendly staff and happy speak with you too.

Try deep breathing counting in slowly to 3 with your hand on your stomach making it rise and slowly breath out to count of 4 to slow down your breathing and repeate till calmer.
Hope you went on ok for the rest of the day and please see your doctor for medication for anxiety and panic attacks.
Panic attacks happen with a big rush of feelings and adrenaline and don't know how to deal with them.
If your at home you are safe and do slow breathing as above ..they arnt nice to have but their is help for them.
Post if you can so we know you are ok....lots of love glynis

Hope your tinnitus has settled

Thank you, all of you, for the support.

I think I have been thinking about noises around me way too excessively. I've been worried about work, as I work in Pret a Manger (cafe). I try to think that if people bring kids here on a regular basis, it can't be too loud. The background music is quiet. My boyfriend said it would be crazy to think this Pret is by any means "too loud".

I had a nice day yesterday, went to Museum of London etc I guess that made me a bit more relaxed. I'm still not registered with the NHS but I should really get on with it soon.

Bless you all :)

Frenger , Keep faith ! you have T since 2010 and you know there is bad and good days . Yesterday was a nice day for you. When I have bad day I just tell myself tomorrow will be a better day .
To cope during bad days , I try to relax and use some masking sound ( not easy to find the good one on bad day ) . I am using a lot of apps with sound nature generators .
You should register at NHS and find someone to speak
hope you ll get some better days

They will check your ears and reassure you and can prescribe anything you may need.
Last AnE visit they kept me in nearly a week gggrrr!!!....lots of love glynis
