Hi friends,
For the last days I'm having some itching when inserting and removing my earplugs. I think my skin has irritated or has eczema. I was trying to make it better, using earplugs as little as possible. But tonight, something happened that triggered my anxiety.
When I was asleep or semi-asleep, my ear started to itch, probably due to contact with pillow... and when I woke up I was scratching the external part of my ear canal with my little finger. I tried to do it slowly, to not make noise. Not sure how many times I did it and with which intensity. Now the itching has increased and now I think my tinnitus on that side is louder.
But I have to clarify that I'm finishing a benzo taper (Clonazepam) and I think it often worsens tinnitus.
Do you think scratching with a little finger can harm the inner ear?
I'm truly worried. Today is a crisis day.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Regards.
