Hey guys. I have not been here to much lately. Something is about to change, I really feel it.

The last week my T, how to say it, its there, but I really don't care. Tinnitus is like always, but it feels more distant. I don't focus on it so much anymore, and when I focus on it, there really is no reaction from my side. Its just "oh, that sound. jeje". Then it goes back to where it belongs, in the background.

This is a state of mind I never thought I could come to two months ago. And I was in a pretty bad shape then.

Awesome !How is the volume compare to two months ago ?

I don't know for sure. Right now I can hear it. I hear it over the computer fan, and the fireplace behind me burning wood. I took a shower 30 minutes ago, and I had a spike because of the noise. But, even tho its still there, it just feels more distant. It feels less threatening. Its just there. Its just a sound. It wont do me anything, and if I don't make a big deal of it, it won't be a big deal.

That's fantastic,,,

Question -
Was this from Tinnitus since 8/2010 or just two months of Loud T?
And you consider this is what people call Habituation? (I need a spell checker on that word)

I like christine's Thanksgiving remark,,,thats nice.

So happy for you, Meeruf. So as James said: Is this after three years, since 2010? Or following a spike?

I came down with my tinnitus six months ago and have been a little disappointed I have not yet habituated... although I am SO MUCH better than in the beginning. Gotta be patient and keep working toward a peaceful, quiet future.

But hey, this is about you, not me. Seems you have had a seismic attitude shift. Way to go. Sounds like you have reached acceptance. Which is everything. Happy Thanksgiving.

Sounds good. Who knows, you might be a couple weeks or months away from completely forgetting about it.

I remember in your introduction thread you said you had hyperacusis, is that still present?

@James and @LadyDi

This is after the spike I had this late summer. The T I had pre-spike was nothing. Just a faint background hum.

Yes, I had some issues with sound in the beginning. I still have, but I manage to ignore it more. I have trouble with the sound of plastic bags, paper bags, shower, sinkwater running etc. The sounds makes my T spike.

That's fantastic. Gives us all hope. I find I'm less and less focused on the T when I'm busy. I forgot about it pretty much all day today (busy baking and preparing for Thanksgiving). I guess this is habitation? It's there but don't really care!
I'm so happy for you and wish you continued peace into the future.

That is great news! Do you think TRT helped you ?
