I Was a Guinea Pig in the Autifony QUIET-1 Study, Great Results

@inadmin has a point, can we really conclude **anything** from one single person who got her T subjectively softened (by 75%)?

We do not even know if she got the real deal or a placebo. We all know T can be quite whimsical. Furthermore, there's spontaneous recovery and worsening over time. Thus I think it's way too early for us to celebrate anything here, let alone rewarding someone with the Nobel prize, which I think should be exclusively reserved for a **genuine cure**.

Drugs in general are just a short-term fix, taking them long-term can have severe side effects (see Benzos and ADs).

Worse, let's assume this meds just lowers T and you took them for years, chances are that if your T gets mild enough by popping those pills you hab to this low T. However, as soon as you tapper off T comes back at full force; subjectively fiercer than ever.

I saw it with my dad, he had dysfunctional kidneys and took meds for many years only to get a brain aneurysm and be completely disabled and bedridden. That's one reason I'm not a fan of long-term drugs.

So until there is more conclusive data I'll take this news with a grain of salt. Call me a pessimist if you wish, but I'm just a reasonable realist.
Why does it have to be a cure right now? Why cant it bring some relief and hope to us all, to know we are building on the right track. maybe a cure will never happen in our lifetime, but the direction we are going in is positive.
No offense, your are a pessimist, and maybe rightly so because how much i read youa re suffering, but i am surprised you cant see the positivity in this news. At least things are moving in the right direction. yes you are right, no drug is perfect. I have taken an Ad most of my adult life and without them I would not be here, they have saved my life on more than one occassion. I certainly understand your suffering, not with T because mine is not as bad as yours, but with crippliing depression that got at my very soul. I will take some measure of happiness in this news, I wish you would as well because as many have expressed to you.=this is a SUPPORT forum. I will agree with all those who preach it and the therapy i have been in -healing starts when you try to look and build on the POSITIVE things in your life, not easy but its a start. I hope for your sake you start to see that.

There is a (sort of) cure right now.
Trobalt, an effective but dangerous drug.
I believe that 063 is the next iteration. Less side effects, more focused, more effective.
Maybe in some years a new improved iteration will come along.
I wouldn't mind taking it every day if it passes all the trial stages. Hell, I wouldn't mind taking it six times every day.

When 2 TT members saw no change after being in the trial, there were those who assumed its a failure. No we have a member who experienced fantastic results, and now one person isn't a large enough sample size? Wow, some will never see the brighter side of things! The treatment clearly worked for Corrine, and that's quiet to my ears:)

If i can have 5 solid more years of life i would im suffering everyday bad.. To the point i dont want to continue, too much pain.. U say how u want to kill yourself all the time so u rather do that than live a couple more years somewhat normal again ?

Hi Corrine, great of you to stop by and tell your story!!

Is it ok I ask you a few more questions?

1. you participated 3 weeks but I thought it was 4 weeks. Am I wrong or did you stop earlier?

2. So even after stopping to take the drug the silence continued for 3 more weeks? was it a steady build up after the last day or did you have silence for a long time and suddenly Tinnitus reappeared?

3. Did the doctors give you any more information on the drug;

Did they say you would return back to square one after three weeks?
Did they say anything about the potential of it to cure Tinnitus or only be a way to silence it while taking it?

4. So you didn`t have any drowsiness or `highness` while taking the drug. an uplifting feeling of happiness or release of anxiety?
You felt very much the same except for heartburn and silence?

5. Did it take some time for the best effect to take place or was it the same every single day... the same amount of relief.

6. Did the effect of the drug wear off after a few hours or when you woke up in the morning or was it just a steady effect on your experience of tinnitus?

These questions are important because they can sketch the idea of the action of this drug and the potential it has. We have been trying other drugs similar to this one so would love to compare them now.

thanks again and hope you can go on to phase 3!

ps didn`t they tell you not to drink alcohol on it? :) I think most of these drugs shouldn`t go together with alcohol.
Hi, Whilst taking the drug apart from the heartburn and sickness with alcohol I felt my normal happy self I used to be. I took the drug the same time everyday. The drug only wore off once I had stopped taking it which was gradual return after stopping for three weeks. It was lovely to have a break from it, It wasn't gone completely but like I say it was a 75% improvement.
Before going on the trial I had to have an EGC, reflex's check, full fitness examine and bloods taken.
I also had to have two forms of contraception . They did not tell me not to drink alcohol so I did drink, but at least if I do go for phase 3 I know what to expect.

Well, I'm sure phase 3 will be a longer trial. With trobalt, mine's reduced by 90% and that's a permanent reduction.

How loud do you perceive your T? Is it maskable? Do you have low days?
I get very low days, where it is so bad and it vibrates, Sometimes I feel like giving up and have little break downs. I have even been in the car and wanted to crash it, but that's not the right way to feel or go about it

This is monumental ground-breaking first of its kind anecdotal evidence. Nothing anyone can say takes away from its magnitude in terms of its potential for T relief. The cure for cancer looks well on the way this week. Calming down a few neurons is surely a realistic hope now. I for one have no doubt at all that this is coming in and soon.

Just a quick side bar, what's the story on the cancer cure? That dreaded disease has hit my family in the last couple of months:(

I'm no scientist, but drugs that can CURE are those one takes to kill bacteria or a virusc or some unwanted cells that developed. Otherwise when sth is definitely wrong in the body you can only treat it. I've been doing it for years because of my thyroid and pcos problems. I'm not fan of long term drug taking but what choice do I have? I only live chosing between evils . Now in perspective taking more drugs for life because of T. I'm too very worried about kidneys and liver in all this, but hey - how about taking drugs only for 4 weeks every 4 weeks? Giving the organism a break from drugs. I would stand stronger T for a while if I knew I can have relief with drugs when I feel like.

thank you for reply. By low days I meant do you have days where the tinnitus is mild (not loud).
And since you mentioned it, your T varies in pitch?

It might be possible to reduce dosage or have a wk on / off to maintain a reduced volume .
If someone said you may cause other damage 10/15 yrs later I would take a pill to get my life back now .
New drugs in the meantime may be even better or I will habituate first and not even worry about it

He will never get off troabalt, at least until Aut comes out.

Can you blame him? If trobalt is gonna work for me as well, thats what im gonna do too. If MrsD is right and Phase 3 will start in 2016 then it's still a long road to go...If Trobalt is a temporary solution for extreme T then so be it (please)

Thank you Corrine for taking the time and caring enough to come on here. This is a ground-breaking testimony. It really is a first in kind anecodote. You have inspired many to continue the struggle to obtain meaningful relief. Never before in the history of this planet has anyone verified that a legititmate purpose built drug for tinnitus has delivered the goods. You have made history. Genuine respect. RCP1

Thats not a permanent reduction.. When u get off trobalt itll come back..

I take 400mg once a day. My tinnitus is quiet before I take trobalt and is all day after. I'm assuming it's permanent reduction.

Thats very well put RCP1. I want to thank you to Corrine. As you understand, we cant get enough of you. You really are the ball-queen right now. I hope you dont mind it, as I feel somewhat responible for bringing your story to this forum.
Spreading good news, I think, is so incredible importent for most of us as its fuling us with hope that the nightmare that T. is may someday may come to an end. Or at least be much easier to live with.

Thanks again...
