Okay, I have experienced this lie and some others have as well. Many hearing aid places have told people the hearing aids can only have a frequency range of up to maybe 7 khz or maybe 8khz. Well, I found one that goes up to 12khz and it was one of the best I have ever used. I was able to borrow it to try it out but I couldn't justify the cost at the present time. Hopefully one day I will be able to afford a model like it. The one that can be programmed up to 12khz that I know of is the Siemens Primax 7px also known as Signia Primax 7px. If there are others please let me know because if I can find a cheaper one that goes that high I would love to try it out!!

Remember regular audiograms only test to 8khz when human hearing can have a hearing range of 20hz to 20khz!! If you have hearing loss or T above 8khz these aids might be able to help. If interested you will have to call around to find a place that will give you an "extended audiogram" that goes to either 12khz or 14khz. You might have to a doctor or specialty place but it might be worth it if you can afford it.
