If You've Had Tinnitus in the Past, and It Disappeared...

First time I had T it was very severe, and it completely faded away in just over 18 months. (noise from power equipment)
I am in my second bout with T and it has faded over 75% in 10 months. (noise from concert)
Noise induced T can easily take 1-2 years to fade.

You and people like you are a big reason that I have hope with this most recent onset of tinnitus. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I mean it.

Also to answer OP, I had my first bit of tinnitus in my early teens, finally just asked if it was normal and I was told it wasn't. After that it kind of faded or I only heard it in total silence. Hadn't affected me at all in years really (besides minor spikes for a day or so very infrequently). This new spike I hope does the same thing, whether or not it will or won't I have no idea as it's never been this loud. I'm hoping with time it will fade.

I have seen multiple stories on the Facebook groups from people who had it for months or years, and then had it disappear for years, and are only on the groups because it returned. In one case a woman had it for four years and it went away. It returned several years later after she sat next to a speaker.
