Cause of Tinnitus
long term noise exposure (headphones), maybe some stress.
I thought today of what other members here find a relaxing video/sound.

Here we can post our favorite video/sounds and tell why we like them :) maybe we can inspiration from each other. If you do not have a favorite video, but just a sound then I would love to hear your favorite sound also.

My absolute favorite is this:

- I have always found native music/flute very soothing and relaxing and the sound of the rain/water is perfect for masking my tinnitus.

My second favorite is this:

- it's a good combination of sounds and the crickets mask my tinnitus very nicely.

Generally I really like the sound of water.

If you mean by masking my tinnitus, I use an app called "atmosphere".

Is this an app that has many different sounds you can choose from? If so, what are your favorites.

I have several apps but my favorites are Relaxing Melodies and Ambience.

No one else want to share their favorite video/sound?? Join in the fun :D

I have been enjoying watching the adventures of the owl below. I (and others in the comments to those clips) find these videos to be relaxing.

If you would rather not watch a mouse tail sticking out of a baby owl's beak, skip the interval between 0:40 and 1:45 in the clip below. Otherwise, I think you might enjoy this clip

@TheDanishGirl hi Sandra, I absolutely love the first video with flutes and rain you posted.... this is the type of masking sounds I like. Even better then the videos I love visiting areas with running water.....waterfalls. I want to live beside a waterfall.....I would probaby never need medication again.
Recently I have also been listening to jazz with rain in the background. Beautiful and calming, when I figure out how to upload it on here I will.

Does anyone else find jazz music soothing? Love the sax.

I'm not that into jazz music but I do love the sound of the sax :)

I have found another great video, that I find very relaxing:

I agree, there's nothing like the real thing. However, for times that you can't get to those type of locations, you might enjoy this video. It's very pleasant when viewed in full-screen mode. In addition to the visual effect, the sound of the moving water and intermittent nature sounds are very relaxing. For me, it would be even better without the music. Just the sound of the moving water and nature sounds would have been good enough. That said, I hope you enjoy it.:

Hi!

I've been a professional drummer and music producer for over 20 years. In the early days I never protected my ears good enough and as a result developed Tinnitus in both ears, but more problematic in the left.

It really surfaced badly about 5 years ago, when I had a cold and the ringing in my ears seemed like it would never go away. It was scary. And it seemed the more I focused on it, the louder it got and the more distressed I got. This became a vicious cycle for nearly 12 months. Thankfully it eased of a bit, but last thing at night and first thing in the morning is when it is most noticeable.

Falling asleep can be hard, so for ages I watched TV or a movie/podcast to distract me, but I found that just kept my brain active and I would stay awake too long!

With more research I came across some audio recordings with things like the sound of waves, or rain etc. After adjusting my routine to not switch on the T.V, and just listen to these sounds, I found that not only did it help with my Tinnitus, but it also was very medative and relaxing.

So, being a producer, I soon became disappointed with the lack of high quality recordings out there, and have recently started to make my own recordings with high grade studio equipment. I have started to become quit obsessed and this week decided to upload my work for others to benefit from.

There is something really therapeutic about going out into nature and just listening to the sounds.

Through doing this, I have found my Tinnitus to be hugely reduced, sometimes totally unnoticeable.

Its all about distraction for me, and unless I think about, I seem to forget its there for most of the day. The more I relax, switch off, listen to these sounds and drift away, the less I notice that constant ringing in my ears and the easier it is for me to fall asleep.

So I encourage you all to try this. Well at least check out these types ofrecordings if you haven't before. There are lots of them out there. It takes a while to adjust and learn to switch off, but I highly recommend it.

If you would like to check out my work so far here's the link to my channel-

Any feedback would be great, as I want to focus the work on Tinnitus relief, and any requests for specific sounds, I'd be more than happy to get for you.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my post and good luck!

That water and flutes seems to work well for me. Thanks for sharing. Since my T is very high pitch, there aren't too many sounds that can mask it. This is one that I listen to when I need to escape the sound in my head.
