Tractography

To study my own brain some more I went and did the ultra high field diffusion tensor MRI this Friday, as part of some research on its financial viability in healthcare since it's still too expensive for hospital use. I've been trying to perform the same operations for about an hour or two that the research team did but haven't succeeded yet. My tracts are going all over instead of showing nice pathways, perhaps I'm not using the right gradient table... If anyone here has experience with DTI MRI's I could use the help.

A specialist will also look at it to determine if I have any health issues visible on the 7 Tesla MRI in general, but for now there aren't many people that are trained to use tractography.

Next friday I'll be participating in a 7 Tesla high resolution MRI at the Spinoza Centre in Amsterdam, and I'll probably talk with the researchers about some other techniques.
Dont forget hearing protection lol.

It turns out MSG can not severely damage your brain as I experienced in one go.
So then it wasn't the chef? Maybe it was the Dingo...

Luckily the team thought of that, my ears where protected with plugs, a sets of earmuffs, and electrode cushions.

No Dan, it was not the chef. It was more likely a fish that ate a seaweed which naturally produces a neurotoxin. Whether a certain fisherman was fishing in illegal waters specifically excluded from fishing by the EFSA is for them to determine and enforce. Just the old marine biotoxin that could have killed me.

Oh man, sorry bro....what kind of fish do you think it was?

Hi,
Thanks Cityjohn for sharing your experience. It definitely helps and warns others. I was not aware of MSG poisoning effect on tinnitus. My cause is a very different and have it for two years now. To help yourself of pinpointing source of the problem and solution, try looking at different sources of causes and find common denominator. It may give you a lot more information than looking at MSG only. I wondered if bees and whales has tinnitus sort of because they get disoriented and sick like too. There is one agreement between you, me and animals, and that is poisoning. It has happened in the past, see for example ancient Rome poisoning to lead I think. I wondered if you had tremors when you were poisoned. Like flu like shivering etc but no fever.

It was a pangasius fillet. Likely one imported from Vietnam.

You've misunderstood quite a few things, specifically where I mentioned it could never have been MSG, but I appreciate your sentiment.

We'll (TinnitusTalk) interview an expert that knows more about the chronic illness MSG causes but as far as acute brain damage is concerned either MSG or glutamate can never be the culprit unless you've had a stroke.

MSG does not have a poisoning effect on tinnitus, it has a neuroexciting effect on the auditory system. Unless the body is submitted to vast amounts of it very rapidly it can never do permanent harm as you bodily proteins mobilize to clean up the compound with VGlut1 and VGlut2 transporters. As is the consensus MSG can never reach concentration high enough, fast enough to do so because of those transporter proteins.

I never looked at MSG only, I carefully examined and matched anything that could cause my acute neuroexcitation and systemic brain damage in the circumventricular organs after eating Chinese food. MSG ranks infinitely higher on that list than a rare and lethal marine biotoxin that you sometimes hear about when people drop dead in raw fish restaurants.

HI CityJohn ..i'm a dutchman also ( dutch ancestory ) ( look at my last name )

Hey Mike!!

but these past 2 days without notice i had some MSG in my food now it spike.
i didnt eat much thou.

thank you!

Hi Mario

i really need to see which email account i have on tinnitustalk ..because i only just saw this right now, ..just because i decided to come here today. ( then seen i had an alert

Your question is about MSG ..that's Great !

In my HUGE battle against getting over tinnitus......

The thing that i've learned the most recently.. Is That MSG is NOt Good at all

I got myself down to MSG-laced food only 2 times per week.

Then now, i haven't been to a MSG place in a few weeks !

OH yeA. The MSG effect is temporary. ..unless your T. was induced by MSG. Like CityJohn

you should be fine. Avoid MSG as much as you can - no question about it.

Update;

I thought it would be nice to give an interesting update about my journey in all of this. After all this time I still have a headache and tinnitus which is an obviously annoying handicap but I've managed to cope with it decently enough. I think I'll one day be able to reach comparable efficacy as I had before. I'm also continuing to find and execute alternative therapies and treatment options as time allows but studying will take priority for the next two years.

The caterer that served us our food lost a 14 million Euro a year contract at our university. One part of the acquisition required subcontractors to answer a line of questioning in a live session. I can only guess what the open and closed line of questioning was about but I don't think it's a stretch to assume food safety protocols was a big topic this time around. The reason the contract was so highly valued is because our university controls what happens in a lot of other colleges throughout the Netherlands. I guess you reap what you sow, and sometimes you step on a landmine.

I've handed my entire case over to a very meticulous and well known attorney's office. This week my attorney will send out all the letters with a legal requirement to cede information under public information laws. The obvious lack of safety protocols will become clear and then it remains to us to prove the the extent of the damage. The whole case will probably take a year to solidify and pay out. Hopefully I can go have myself a stem cell treatment, and ditch the high pitched dentist drill in my head.

Robin bird there was a person on this website who got their t from an msg overdose at a Chinese restaurant. I think he sued them.
