Hi!

I'm planning to get two of my impacted teeth extracted. They will have to drill them, because they are impacted -> they drill the part that is touching tooth next to it and then extract it.

Have you got any experience with laser extraction?

1.) Should I wear earmuffs or will it be worse due to occlusion effect?

2.) Should I get both teeth done at the same time? (I would like to get them done at the same time because of gape between semesters but if it's a bad idea, I will wait with the second tooth.)

3.) Is the numbing injection ototoxic?

Thank you in advance.

From what I have read on here and from what I have discussed with my dentist, the laser drilling on your teeth is quiet. The laser machine is "loud", but the actually drilling of it on your teeth is more like a popping sound.

For mechanical drills you don't want to wear ear protection because of the occlusion effect, but I think it is okay with the laser because there is no occlusion effect besides a quiet pop sound.

@Bill Bauer has had experience with this.
