Introducing My New Book "Living With Tinnitus"

I was unable to install it on my PC with Vista on it, does it only work on a Kindle? I'm just wondering? It did have a place to click download for PC Windows Vista.

Please let me know.

Thank You.

Hi Cheza, thanks so much for taking the time to research and write this excellent book to help us all suffering out here and I will gladly pay the price for this kind of information and from what I've read so far you're spot on with the way tinnitus is currently affecting my life!

I had to take off this week as my Tinnitus has been so bad I'm only able to get a few hours of sleep a night and so I've been spending night and day googling for a sleep aid that won't increase my tinnitus and I see that you've been using "doxylamine succinate" which sounds pretty good, so I'm just wondering what side effects you may have noticed when you go off it for a while?

And Cheza, my story is I got Tinnitus back in 1991 after taking an antibiotic right before a flight from CO to CA and it was very intense for the first year and I can't exactly remember how I got through it, but I do know I was a big fan of the CO brew pubs, so maybe I drank my way through the ordeal. So eventually it sort of faded into the background up until 2 weeks ago when I started using NasaCort and that apparently caused my tinnitus to resurface with a vengeance, so now I'm almost paralyzed to try anything that will increase my tinnitus, as we all are, so it looks like trying anything new is going to be a real gamble as to whether it causes a temporary or permanent increase and that's a terrifying thought!

Thanks again Cheza for your wonderful efforts to help us all!

I am also interested; please let us know when it is possible to order through Amazon for non-UK and US residents.

Hello Cheza,

I figured out what I had to do, I got the book to load on my tablet. I just had to load Amazon Kindle to turn my tablet into a Kindle and it loaded right up.

I was never able to load it on my Desktop or Laptop computers.

It's really nice what you did here for everyone, good luck with your book.

Thank You

Louie

I decided to delete my post. I felt bad. @Cheza has done something good, so it's not right to be sour grapes over scamazon.

In the next month I'll be offering it at a reduced price, whatever will cover the cost to me for download. (Amazon charges a download fee to authors except during free promotion.)

Is your intention to release your book "for free" then (as in you not making any profit)? If so then Amazon may not be your best distribution channel. There are quite a few ways to host files for free.

Greg, it's looking like the freebie is actually available worldwide, so I'll have a discount sometime in the future but probably not to bare bones. I just wanted to make sure everyone here had the chance to get it at more or less an equal cost. This forum has really helped me a lot. It was just a natural thing to do to announce the freebie promotion here as a way of saying thanks.

I think I saw your prior post, where you were having trouble. Send me a message, I think I can help.

Am I right in reading that we "can" download this interesting title but have to be careful in stopping "Kindle Unlimited" trial period so we don't have a monthly fee? Would like to read this very much, and thank you for your time and energy Cheza.

I've checked with Amazon and apparently it is available pretty much worldwide, even if your country doesn't have an Amazon website. Where are you located?

My blog post has a list of countries that I was able to track down, with links to the book page for each country: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain.

Even if you don't live in one of those countries, you should still be able to get it through Amazon US or Amazon UK.

@Cheza Great work! Thank you so much! :)
What was it like writing this book and diving into all the information out there? Did it change your view on tinnitus or anything else?

First, thanks so much for answering Gazzie's and Newloud's questions. I don't think I could have explained it that well.

What was it like writing the book? Very challenging as far as reading medical abstracts and trying to reconstruct it as a layperson. Frustrating because it was taking me so long (2 years). The formatting drove me batty because I was writing the book in Scrivener, which threw in a lot of unnecessary and incorrect code that I had to remove. That was an experience I won't forget.

The amount of information out there about tinnitus is absolutely staggering. I hope nobody thinks that tinnitus is a forgotten or neglected problem in the medical or scientific community, because there are so many researchers who are giving it their best to find either a solution for substantial relief or a cure. I think one thing they need to do is look more at some sort of neurochemical imbalance, and certainly the role of stress is probably not getting enough attention.

As far as changing my view on tinnitus, that's a good question. I do view it more objectively now, and don't feel like I'm personally being picked on by the universe.

As for my views on anything else, the one thing I've learned more than anything else is that we all need help from others at some point in our lives, and it's not a weakness to reach out and ask for that help. I never imagined myself joining a community because of an ailment, but now I recognize the value they have. Support is everything.

@Cheza - I received my kindle version yesterday.
So far I have only had time to read a few specifics and scan the rest.
I am so impressed.
It confirms many thoughts and ideas that I have been working on in my own experience.
Thank you so much for this very kind offer,

Jazzer xx

Wow, this is wonderful. I'm in Canada, so I'll have to wait for the sale to come out. I do look forward to reading it - my first book on Tinnitus.

I've had this for many many years and the last couple it has gotten worse. Hoping to find a way to help reduce it's intrusiveness.

Link to ebook, Amazon Canada. I hope the book helps you. :huganimation:

Sure wish it was available on Amazon.ca. I was at my book group on a Thursday and as it turned out three out of 8 of us are sufferers.

Choose the Buy Now button, not the Read for Free button. Amazon interface is confusing.
