I've been sharing this around and have asked a few people with some social reach to help, but I've noticed it is actually quite difficult to find on the main Tinnitus Quest webpage.

It would be really great if we could raise that last $5,000 with a strong final push.

Me too. It is difficult, which shows what we are up against. The number of sufferers out there does not currently translate into financial support.

The options for becoming a regular supporter start at as little as a couple of pounds per month.

Once I have an income again, I'll be sure to set it up. I need to make my savings last for now, but I've donated what I can.

I've been trying to get a couple of well-known musicians interested. I used to do some work for a small company that collaborated closely with a few of the bigger acts from the 80s and 90s. I'll admit I'm not holding out too much hope, but I'm trying to aim high.

Surely there must be some writers among us who could get a gripping tinnitus story published in a newspaper.

It's just a bit frustrating when we're mostly talking among ourselves and family, all while working with a limited pool of cash. Awareness is going to be ninety percent of the battle. I always think of that bloody ice bucket challenge. Maybe if we could get a viral micro suction challenge going among celebrities, we might quickly attract some rich new members.

That's brilliant! Every dollar makes a difference. I hope we can make one final push. Together, we are many, and as we begin our grant program, I believe trust will grow and we will be able to achieve more and more.

Please take a moment to visit our website. We are completely transparent, and we understand that tinnitus, in particular, has lost a great deal of trust over time. We are affected too, and it is only because we are so frustrated with the current lack of treatment options that we have poured so much heart and soul into Tinnitus Quest.

Thank you, Jack, for all that you do. I plan to remain a donor for life, but just as importantly, I will be participating in research efforts through an ATA-funded study at UT Austin here in the United States. The study focuses on auditory gating in tinnitus and hearing loss and is part of the global TIDES study.

The growing prevalence of tinnitus among younger generations, as seen in cases like mine (age 32), Jocelyn's, and Tim's, signals a concerning shift in the age of onset. While tinnitus has traditionally been associated with age-related hearing loss, it now demands a fresh perspective and innovative solutions. We need to modernize our approach by engaging younger voices—from researchers and artists to social media influencers on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram—to better address this evolving challenge.

Many millennials and younger individuals, myself included, experience tinnitus or hyperacusis despite having normal audiogram results. This is often linked to what has been called "hidden hearing loss," and it highlights the urgency for new research approaches. To make real progress, we must combine the foundational work of early pioneers with fresh insights from younger generations who are motivated to develop better solutions.

This calls for increased collaboration across disciplines, including otology, neurology, and psychopharmacology, to create more effective resources and treatments for future generations.

Yes, we've been trying, but so far no luck. Typically, to reach the right person at a big organization like that, you need a personal introduction from someone, rather than cold calling or emailing. But we'll keep trying.

WE DID IT! Thanks to incredible support from around the world—and one amazing last-minute donation—we've officially hit our $10,000 fundraising goal for Jocelyn's London Marathon campaign.
