Is It Safe to Take Melatonin and Xanax at the Same Time?

It's been getting harder to sleep.

I'm not sure if it's the side effect of the Prednisone but I've been more depressed and anxious, and finding it hard to get a good night's rest. A lot of my positivity and hope is slowly fading, and the lack of sleep doesn't help at all!

I was wondering if it's ok to take both Xanax and Melatonin (while I'm still on Prednisone)? It's a small Xanax dose, 0.25g

I've been taking 5 g melatonin but just recently bought a pill cutter.

DO NOT take Melatonin with corticosteroids or other medications used to suppress the immune system. Prednisone is a corticosteroid. See here:
