I've had tinnitus over three months now. When I got it I went to couple of visits to doctors but as you know they don't care at all. They just check for infection and push you out of the office. When I told I feel pain in the ears the doctor just said, "Your ears look perfectly healthy! How you even could feel pain with so good ears?" then he just prescribed me ibuprofen, even though it can make tinnitus worse (didn't take it though, not a big fan of painkillers when there's no need for them). And he said I should do valsalva from time to time because my ear drums didn't pop normally. Then I read valsalva can damage the eardrum and got really scared. Seriously that doctor didn't know shit
One doc said I should go for ear specialist if tinnitus lasts for two weeks but I never went. I don't know after losing faith in doctors I didn't want to travel to a city that's kinda far away to get useless advice.
I did get a hearing test done when I went to complain to school nurse about it and my hearing is normal. I've been feeling depressed again lately and I'm considering about making appointment. Do you think going for ear specialist would help at all, even though I've had it for months? Is it just a waste of time?
