I'm not quite familiar with tinnitus because I've only had it for 3 months now.. But from what I have read, I believe I have habituated somewhat? Does this sound like I have? When I first got t in December I was an absolute mess, it's all I heard, I'm only 17 and I was convinced the rest of my life would be miserable. As time went on I began feeling better. I got a noise masked, took some vitamins, learned how to relax ect.. The more time that went on, the less I noticed my t. I do believe the sound got quieter or softer by 50% but I'm not quite sure if it really did, or if I'm just getting used to it. Either way, I began taking my anti anxiety meds less, using my noise machine at night less, masking my t less, noticing it less, until eventually I just stopped everything I had once used to cope. I no longer need to take my anxiety meds to sleep, or listen to the white noise just to function.. Today, my t doesn't even bother me one bit. I hear it everyday, but never really listen to it, even when I do, I have no negative feelings or thoughts connected to it. It's just sort of background noise now. I've even gotten comfortable and used go the idea of having this for the rest of my life. I can thankfully now say, t doesn't effect my daily life at all anymore really. Even hearing it loud right now because I'm paying attention doesn't bother me one bit.. Are these signs of habituation?
