Dear all,

My tinnitus is very responsive to sounds around and in. When I move my head I get "whoop" sounds, and also chewing produces sounds in inside..

Anyone gets the same?

Yes, mine responds to a lot of things, too, especially the sound on the TV set. Also, I have a constant whoosh (pulsatile tinnitus) that makes my head feel like it is vibrating. Do you have something similar?

I can watch TV for about 1/2 hour at a time, and then I have to turn it off and go do something else to calm my ear down!

@aylp

Does your tinnitus get worse when you exercise, too? And, I'm wondering if yours gets worse when the barometric pressure changes, such as with changing weather conditions.

i was working on a song and after 2 hours of acoustic playing and singing my T got worse. Not sure if it was a criticism on the tune by Mr. T but I haven't worked on my music since I got T 6 months ago... Or is it 7 months, but it felt good to make some music.
Damn T tried to ruin the party.
But sounds generally don't have an effect that I've noticed.
My T either just gets louder as day goes by or it stops competelty on a cycle...well it did. Not so much these days.

Mine is reactive also to sound. Yes, to moving my head, chewing, walking, touching my face, yawning, moving or anything other then sitting still.

After almost three years I think I can say that my T is reactive to music, either making music or playing live.
It was hard to spot in the beginning as it seems to take a day or two to kick in after any loud music.

No, he means that when you hear any sound, you will hear another attachment sound or ringing along with what you are hearing at the same time.

My T is for certain reactive, every sound I hear it will be reactive by increasing and rising above all sounds....it is very difficult to blend or mask at all. I had lots of ear crackling and pressure in my ears at first (7 months ago) when this all started. My T is just constant and never ever stops. I also have a pulsating sound/feeling in my ears at night when I lay my head directly on my ears on my pillow, which I now try to NOT do. I just recently purchase hearing devices with blending noise to help relieve the tea kettle squealing that is contestant. I have been wearing them now 2 weeks, during the day only. I use a white noise app on my iPhone to sleep by putting my phone under my pillow. It all sucks to be honest!

Just wondering how you think this all started? Were you exposed to a loud sound? Also, did you have your Ototacoustic Emissions tested and what did it say?

Aylp ,I'm in UK ,I notice weather like Karen affects me ,as I've got sinus issues going as well .Keep a notebook handy and jot down ,weather and how your T behaves ,see if a pattern emerges .
UK has had heck of a lot of rain these past few weeks ,that's why I think weather could be giving you probs ,it's been low pressure here for weeks .how long you in UK for ? As you say it's changed since arriving in UK .weather out there is fair for this time of year ,got family in Southern Spain Alicante .Good Luck

Thanks @Marlene

It is related I think. It has been two months since I moved to Newcastle. Used to be living in Madrid a and have family in Aegean coast, Turkey. Didn't have problems that much but I don't know if the weather could induce permanent hearing loss...

Aylp could do ,I get fullness in my ears ,feels like I'm deaf ,I know weather does it for me ,found that out by keeping notes as to how T ,ears and sinuses were ,today mine are low again deaf ear feeling ,and my T is so aggravatingly low ,air pressure out side is low again today .Not what I call good head day all round .Got neck ache bad ,do you get that ? Try to watch your noise levels what your exposed to .I do on my worst days ,even to talking on the phone ,I avoid .Family are good ,but other callers aren't aware of me and T noise,so husband takes care of those
I agree with Tyty it sucks .living as we do .
You might try a dr visit ,but I don't hold out dr would be able to help ,I'd be reluctant to put anything in the ears myself ,always wary of that med wise or over the counter stuff .End up more trouble .
Let's know how you get on ,might just resolve itself .Hope so .

My T has changed. In the first few months sounds used to mask it or maybe lower it sometimes but now it seems to be reactive to sounds and is more noticeable in the presence of sound or that's what I think
