So terrible! It upsets me to read stories like this.

I know many firefighters suffer from tinnitus. My husband is a firefighter and has mild tinnitus. What I don't understand is: How come he gets to work as usual, with the noise in NYC, the sirens, the noise of the diesel truck, an hour commute, goes to all department activities, hockey games and his tinnitus never gets worst!? He also has mild hearing loss. No hyperacusis ever. Meanwhile, I am home...avoid noise as much as possible, no hearing loss and boom!! It has gotten worst for shorter and lesser noise exposure. I shake my head.
I mean, I am glad his doesn't get worst, I just don't understand. And it doesn't help that his never changes because its a little harder for him to understand me. He says he doesn't pay attention to it! Venting.
