Cause of Tinnitus
Sinus Infection?
I just got out of a show that lasted about 4 hours, and had earplugs that cancel 32 dB. Before the show I had slight ringing (and my tinnitus is very likely from the congestion I have) and after the show I hear no ringing. It feels almost too quiet though...has anyone else experienced this? And is this a good thing?

This is what T is doing to me, making me paranoid and giving me anxiety...

Update: if I plug my ears I noticed a ringing, but not at all when I don't.

.has anyone else experienced this?
Yes, I experienced very very low T or none for some hours after a Lady Gaga concert, me, who I had loud T before the concert. After some hours T returned to its loud level.
I didn't wear plugs, but I stayed as far as I could from the stage/speakers.

My T is seemingly going away since my sinuses are starting to clear up, I'll see how it is in the morning but I think the night went well so far and I haven't made it worse

Just really anxious that I might make it last longer now

I read where nothing can be done for T caused by a blow to the head or loud noises.
What about T caused by medication. Is that also permanent?
Will it go away after the medication is stoped?

@Mike K
If your T is from sinuses problems, I don't see how noise, if not too loud, as you were wearing protection, could have raised your T.
If T is from sinuses problems, only a worsening of those problems can increase the T (of course, acoustic trauma or loud noise are forbidden)

Depends on the medication.
Stopping aspirin or Furosemid will stop the induced T, but I know two cases with Wellbutrin induced T which lasted after stopping the medication.

I agree, I just needed to hear it from someone else :p I think whenever my T spikes slightly it's from my sinuses getting a little irritated. Thank you!

@Mike K
Thank you
You're welcome. T from sinuses problems doesn't indicate you have special vulnerability to noise. (of course, that doesn't mean you are protected against acoustic traumas and loud noise exposure either, so you should avoid them like anybody else)

There, I said it twice.

Let's just hope it's truly from that hahaha

I just didn't know if the noise made the fluid act up or make an already enflamed Eustachian tube get damaged. My mind is at ease :)

Do you have ears fullness?
Is your hearing decreased?

@Mike K What kind of earplugs are you using that block 32 db, I could sooooo use those if I ever get rid of T for my rehearsals?

I'm happy that you've regained your silence! :)

They feel a little full and crackle when I swallow and yawn, more than normal. Granted I'm hyper aware of it but I'm almost positive it's not usually like this. My right has cleared up a bit in the last few days, the left is taking longer. That's the one with the tinnitus 90% of the time. I was on prednisone which significantly lessened the ringing but am off it now, and I just finished the third day of afrin nasal spray. I'm hopeful, I've just never had anything like this before, and it's taking what feels like forever to heal.

Thank you for answering.

Well I got back from the after party...I'm visiting my brother so I had no choice but to endure the loud music for essentially 7 hours. Earplugs helped and I heard no ringing after the concert, but after the club my head is ringing feintly. My head is just tired period...not liking that my head feels like it's in a vacuum

After a concert or hearing loud music, you have "residual inhibition". Your auditory contex is stimulated with other sounds than T. So T goes into the background. This has happened for me, too. Was amazing. Unfortunately it last only until the next morning. Then T is back in its full glory.
