Hello everyone. Brand new to the forum. I have however been reading this forum quite a bit for the past 2 months since I had my last T spike in Sept. I am very appreciative to this forum and all the info. and experiences I have read about on this forum so I feel it's my turn to post and possibly offer any insights.

After doing quite a bit of reading both on and off TT I've decided to try LLLT with Dr. Wilden in Ibiza from where I now write. I started this therapy Monday and finished my 4th session today. I know others have tried LLLT and have had mixed results. I figure if you don't try then you will never get anywhere. So here I am. Any advice or suggestions from anyone else that has been to Dr. Wilden or tried LLLT would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has any questions on my experiences with LLLT, go ahead and ask, I'll try to answer as best as I can. All the best...

Welcome to the forum.

Dr. Wilden ensures that audiograms are done before and during LLLT. The point of these audiograms is not to demonstrate an improvement in hearing, but, to demonstrate the therapy is having an effect. The difference may seem subtle, but, is nonetheless important.

If you wish, feel free to post your audiograms. Also, feel free to share a word or two on the audiometric environment: in Regensburg, the audiological facility was very good, but, I am not sure about Ibiza.

ATEOS - thanks. I've been reading your posts quite a bit and appreciate the info. you've been posting. I think I did see the audiogram room that Dr. Wilden had in Bad Fussing. He no longer has a room, he does the audiogram in his office. Just a regular room. I had headphones with a clicker hooked up to a computer. In short my hearing is pretty good. I have done multiple audiograms, some in soundproof booths, and they are all pretty good. More hearing loss towards the high end put that's all. Hearing loss isn't my issue, just the ringing of T. I do understand that most people have T and hearing loss. I'm not sure why I don't. Anyway, I'll post some pics and more info. on Dr. Wilden's new Ibiza office along with the LLLT therapy in the LLLT forum here:

https://www.tinnitustalk.com/thread...for-tinnitus-—-experiences-dr-wilden-etc.295/

Attached is the audiogram Dr. Wilden did. As you can see his machine goes up to 12Khz. Any advice let me know. Thanks.

I was going to wait a while before I posted an update as from what I read LLLT can take some time to kick in and be effective. I finished 10 days of therapy less than a week ago. Am I cured of my T now? No, I still hear it. But I do think that there has been a positive effect. I believe I hear better. That improvement has continued. Also, I did the 1st home therapy with my home laser I bought. ( 30 minutes ) and about an hour or 2 later the T spiked again. I got worried that it was doing more harm than good again so I skipped yesterday. But this morning I'm actually feeling a lot better. I feel my T is lower. So i think that this laser is having some effect on me. I've also been taking Betaserc. The ENT told me this improved micro circulation to the ear. Not sure if this helped, along with the handful of other supplements I've been taking. ( Ginko, B12 etc...) Did the combination of the 2 help? I think it's still to early to tell. That's the update.

One other thought I had with all the various alternative treatments people have been trying is that I think that people are looking for a simple and quick answers. Does it work? Yes or no? I don't think that most things are that simple. Each person is different and has many different variables. How was the T caused? How severe? How long have you had it? Age? Dr. Wilden told me he had some of his best results in kids. He showed me an improved audio gram of a 13 year old that had a good improvement after 3 therapies. Also, the newer your T the better the chance of improvement. From everything I've read, chronic T is tougher to get rid of. So to answer the question " Does LLLT work?" I think my answer would be that it can help some people. There are many studies out there that do show a positive effect. And others that do not. Again the variables come into play. What wavelength? How many treatments? Duration of treatments? Etc... I think the same goes for other alternative therapies like HBOT, acupuncture and trans cranial magnetic therapy. Helps some but not others. But isn't that the same with non alternative mainstream medicine? Even with pharmaceuticals that have passed the double blind studies and have been FDA approved, some people don't experience improvement while others do. Many people even have adverse affects and even die from approved and accepted mainstream pharmaceutical medicines. I''m not sure how many deaths are caused by FDA approved pharmaceuticals, but I think it's thousands every year in the USA alone. Even when the prescribed medicine is used properly. So why do so many people expect alternative therapies to be 100% effective? I would say nothing is 100% effective. And I'm not limiting myself to just LLLT. If LLLT doesn't work I plan on trying acupuncture, HBOT etc...Maybe these other alternative therapies will show improvement on me. Maybe not. But unless you do not try you do not know. I figure I can always make more money. As of right now I can't get rid of my T with a pill or other approved procedure. Plus I never heard of anyone dying from LLLT, acupuncture or HBOT. Yes there are some risks like baro trauma, but nothing is 100% safe. We take a risk when we get in any car. There are too many stories from different people in different countries that have gotten relief from alternative therapies like LLLT or Lidocaine for them to all not be true. Or from people that are secretly working to dupe us all for monetary gain. And there are stories from people that have tried almost everything and gotten no relief. That I think is an unfortunate possibility as well. But just because one thing doesn't work for one person does not make it ineffective for another. There are too man variables involved. So I would encourage you to at least try. How long do we want to sit around and wait for " The Cure"?
And if someone does have positive results or improvement I'd hope you share your story and details.

Other than that I'll give another update in a few weeks or month or so....All the best.

In short, my T is better. I notice it less often and it is less severe. I don't hear it in all the places that I did before and am able to tolerate it much better. I also feel that the sound is less intense. Instead of a focused high pitched ring it's more of a gentle hiss, like air coming out of a kettle without the sound. It's still not entirely gone but it has lessened. Now if that is due to the LLLT or something else I'm not sure. I am continuing to do 30 minutes a day with the Lux Home Laser and I plan on continuing. I have also in the past month done 12 hours of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, seen 2 homeopathic doctors, started to wear a mouth guard at night ( Somatic T ) and done about 6 sessions of acupuncture as well as taking many supplements and vitamins. I think a combination of all of the above is helping. I do plan to continue throwing anything I can find at the T. I am hoping that one or a combination of things will continue to improve my T. From what I've read, the longer you take supplements and the longer you keep with various therapaies the better your odds of improvement.

If your ENT or other doctor tells you there is nothing they can do for your T, I'd encourage you to seek alternative treatments. What the ENT means when they tell you there is nothing they can do, is that there is no approved pill that they can prescribe you. Unfortunately many doctors are not healers but pill pushers. If they don't have a pill to give you they don't know what else to do. So look elsewhere and do not get discouraged. While I would gladly take a pill to get rid of my T if the pill existed, I would rather try to find the root cause of my T and alleviate it so I didn't need that pill. I think focusing on supplements or therapies that help improve blood circulation to the ears and brain and using vasodillators may help some people. Some of these treatments are pricey and some are not. Exercise, stress relieving meditation, good sleep and following a healthy diet are free. Quitting tobacco, alcohol, junk food, MSG and caffeine will actually save you money. Take action and make a change. If you sit and do nothing then nothing is what you will get. Thanks again to all the people on this forum and the people keeping this all up and going as this forum was and continues to be a great help to me. There are success stories out there, and you too can be one of them. Get up and do it!

Thanks Tovega for all your ideas and encouragement! Exactly what we need!! These are all doable things... and the hope and energy on them has proven helpful. PTL

Sorry about the inactivity. I just updated my setting to get emails when someone starts a conversation with me. I have not been on TT for a few months. Been busy moving and so on...

But I do want to answer any questions and help as much as I can. So ask away. I'll answer the questions publicly so everyone can see. I got a lot of good info. from this forum and hope other share their experiences and info. as well.

Someone asked:

"We are thinking to go in a few months... Would you mind giving an opinion on motels in Ibiza?
Within a nice bus trip?"

Answer: Dr. Wildens office is located pretty much in the middle of the island of Ibiza. Probably less than 30 minutes drive from anywhere on the island. I had a car so I drove to my daily appointments. So I don't have any experience with the bus system. Also, Booking.com is a booking website very popular in Europe. That's what I used to find a place to stay. I stayed in St. Antoni which is Ibiza's second largest city and drove about 15-20 minutes to Dr. Wilden. Also try airbnb.com. Since I was there for 2 weeks I wanted a kitchen and a larger place than what a hotel could offer. Santa Gertrudis where Dr. Wildens office is located also offers rooms through these sites as well. It's a small town. I don't think there are any hotels there.

Question:

"Any improvement with the home laser? Any overall feeling still that it has helped? Thanks!

Am considering seeing him."

I do feel better. I don't feel as bad as when my T spiked in September. Is that because of the laser treatment? I'm not sure. I've also done hyperbaric oxygen therapy, chiropractic, accupuncture, and am still taking almost every vitamin and supplement that I've read about helping T. Am I cured? No. I still hear the T. I think that going to Dr. Wilden, or anyone else for that matter and expecting an instant 100% cure is a lot to wish for. That's not out there right now. I still look forward to that magic pill coming out for T. What I did notice at Dr. Wilden is that after the 3rd treatment of 10, my hearing improved. It became clearer and louder and better. Crisper. But hearing loss was never my issue. I have T with very little hearing loss. Is it worth going to see him? I'm glad I went. So for me yes. You will never get any results by doing nothing. I today feel well enough not to be desperate and come to this forum and spend hours researching and looking for help. I think my T is down from it's peak most of the time. My T fluctuates. I have loud times and softer times. Usually my T gets better after a spike. Now if that improvement is from placebo, natural healing, or just habituation, I'm not 100% sure. Also, everyone reacts differently to different things. LLLT may help some but not others. I'd say that if you can go then do go. Doing nothing will get you nothing. I'm still using his home machine for 30 minutes per day at least 6 days per week. I've been using it for 6 months. I will continue to do so. I figure I paid for it and have nothing to lose at this point. Hopefully I will see more improvement. Plus I enjoy the 30 minute therapy. I find it soothing, comforting and relaxing. I look forward to my 30 minute ear zappings.

That's the update from me. I'd love to hear from anyone who has also gone to Dr. Wilden or done LLLT so please do respond. Thanks.

Just had my 6 month audiogram since using Dr. Wilden's laser. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any real improvement. I'll be sending him a message to see what he has to say about this. In the meantime, I will still continue to use the laser. I hope that my results (or lack thereof) can help people decide if laser treatment is for them. I'm a bit down...but I am not out. Let's see what Dr. Wilden has to say.

I my opinion this Wilden device is far too weak to reach deep enough and the visible wavelength of 650 nm is known to be mostly cut by even 2 mm of skin according to a few studies I posted on these forums

The 3 studies on hair cell regeneration done in mammals were all done using 810nm

The lucky laser has 808nm at a much higher power setting this would be a far better option

I am using this 808 nm at 450mw for 10 minutes per day and I am still noticing very slow but steady inprovements 18 months past trauma

Can you prove that with audiograms? Because if you are referring to tinnitus, nearly 100% reports improvements in a time span of 18 months.

I beg to disagree sir
Many have reported no improvements at all or even a further worsening

But to answer to your question , how much is this a result of LT we will never know .
I will post some audiogram when I'm done with the 3 year plan

@SilverSpiral
Devices , safety, protocols and such have already been discussed at length in all the 3 lllt threads I suggest you make yourself a good cup of coffee and read those especially the ones from folks having gone for treatment at some of the LLLt clinics

I have the Ilauke you suggested it. The next thing i can think is redlightmandevice, the small man. what do you think of that? why were you wrong about the ilauke? can we use ours at all? i wanna know if i can use mine for my sudden loss.

@SilverSpiral

Well all the info you need and everything I know about this has been already written here in these forums

You will have to make your own decisions

But for sudden hearing loss I would run to an ent and get on prednisone asap or get it checked professionally

My laser is set to:
630-680 nm
2 laser diodes with 30 mW

For now, I'm going to stick with it because that is what Dr. Wilden set it to. I'm waiting for his response from my most recent email regarding my 6 month audiogram. Perhaps he will suggest a higher power or alternate time amount. I have no idea. I'll keep you all informed.
