Something really strange just happened. My partner kissed me near my ear, right next to it. It sounded VERY loud, and my ear now feels very full. I'm scared again as I haven't had my ear feel like this for ages. Surely a kiss couldn't have caused damage?

I am having a similar problem since I got my Tinnitus. A penny dropping in a quite room sounds way louder then it should. I can handle being in a loud environment but it seems to take my ears longer to adjust than usual.

Anyway if you can find a quite room with a hard floor try dropping coins or other metal objects and see if they also sound way too loud.

Hyperacusis, there is ton's of info and threads on it.

No way a kiss close to your ears would have damaged it unless that person was being stupid and made a kissing noise ten times louder than usual.

He probably had Hyperacusis before the kissing noise, which is why it sounded so loud in the first place.
