Imagine it's 1865 (150 yrs ago), and you've contracted an annoying, painful, and (albiet uncurable) but ultimately unfatal disease. Imagine your thought pattern at the time. "How could I be so dumb, this Syfilis is destroying me!" Your throught would be, "All this technology, they have to find a cure someday"..and they do. Now remember, we are passing through history, not prehistoric, not futuristic, the present is the only reality any of us know. There will come a time when people with tinnitus/hearing loss will go to the dr and rx that mess completely gone, but remember, AIDS didn't show up until 1981! There will always be some parasite, virus, etc that will haunt the human conditon....tinnitus is minor! Maybe in 2085 they will be saying "Damn I wish I lived in 2005 when they didn't have this Mars virus! It's so annoying!"

speaking of cures, is there any reason you didn't bring your own tinnitus cure to the surface? would seem rather relevant (and newsworthy) for a tinnitus forum, wouldn't you say...?

Description on youtube reads:

"[UPDATE] I no longer have tinnitus. I had an experimental procedure performed in India last year. I will leave this video up for people that are still suffering from this condition."

Is that raindance's video?

There was no cure ten years ago and there never has been and probably never will be. There is no choice but to live with it no matter how loud it gets.

If there was a cure, it would be advertised and everybody would be getting cured and then getting on with their lives. Since we dont see that happening we can assume its not a genuine cure.

There will always be people that claim to have done the impossible in most cases its not true. There are ways to get rich, ways to cure cancer, ways to get women. The list is endless

Sorry, but syphilis most certainly can be fatal! http://www.cdc.gov/std/syphilis/STDFact-Syphilis.htm
http://www.cdc.gov/std/syphilis/STDFact-Syphilis.htm

Excerpt: The latent stage of syphilis begins when all of the symptoms you had earlier disappear. If you do not receive treatment, you can continue to have syphilis in your body for years without any signs or symptoms. Most people with untreated syphilis do not develop late stage syphilis. However, when it does happen it is very serious and would occur 10–30 years after your infection began. Symptoms of the late stage of syphilis include difficulty coordinating your muscle movements, paralysis (not able to move certain parts of your body), numbness, blindness, and dementia (mental disorder). In the late stages of syphilis, the disease damages your internal organs and can result in death.
