I'm just watching a docu on Netflix on life extension.

Scientists succeeded in doubling the lifespan of worms and mice by knocking out just one gene. Something to do with insulin.

If we would all make it to 140 years old, our chances for getting a cure for tinnitus / hearing loss would increase ;-)

Stop eating sugar. Your body won't produce insulin if you don't need it. People on reddit.com/r/keto and reddit.com/r/zerocarb have greatly improved their health by having less or no sugar in their diet.

Protein gets converted into glucose through a process called gluconeogenesis for the cells in our body that cannot run on ketones, which are an alternative energy source to glucose. Ketones are produced when you eat less sugar. The cells that can run on ketones will do that, while those that cannot will use the glucose produced through gluconeogenesis.

Sea anemone also do not contain any sugar, so eating them will lead to a longer lifespan. Just another reason to shove them down your gullet.

I have no desire to live to be 80-something years old with tinnitus and hyperacusis though, let alone 140 years.
