Loud Events — What Kind Do You Attend?

No Cinema, Club, Café, Mall, Resturant, Concert, Festival, Party, Loud Venue, etc

I won't be attending a gun range anytime soon. But I still attend any and all types of activities. I use a dosimeter and abide by the WHOs recommended noise exposure. I'm not sure what kind of restaurants etc people go to. But even those with live music have all been well within the recommended limits for *continuous* noise exposure.

I go to concerts with musician's ear plugs, restaurants moderately loud with no ear protection, sporting events, baseball games I only wear plugs if they shoot off fireworks or I'm too close to a speaker. Football games with plugs, I DJ with in ear earbuds. I also go to festivals without plugs.

I don't go to clubs tho

The only thing I'll go to is a restaurant, non peak times, outdoor seating if plausible, and definitely depends on where you go...does the restaurant play loud music...how small is the building (the smaller the restaurant the more the noise builds if it is busy)...how busy is it in general.

I've also had success in asking restaurant managers to turn down music volume.

Every other loud event I do not do anymore. Mostly that was just movie theaters which I do miss. And am sad I will never go back to the game shop or go to a convention. Those are just too loud.

I will never go to another wedding again, my friend is a model so I attend fashion shows to see her but these days it has gotten so loud that i don't even go anymore. I spend a lot of time at home these days, i'm planning a trip to india next year...I used to live in india for 2 years...lord knows it is loud as heck...but i don't care.

Yes I can imagine that India must be loud !

Even Bangkok was very loud when I was there 2 years ago...

I don't attend anymore concerts, and I haven't been to a movie theater since my tinnitus. I have thought about going back to a movie theater with ear plugs but I haven't got up the courage yet. My tinnitus wasn't noise induced I don't believe but I'm still afraid of it spiking.

I'll always remember my trip to bangkok...I remember going through the street market trying on shoes and at around 6 pm the markets converted into the red light district...all of a sudden there were prostitutes everywhere...and the streets were filled with middle aged men going from girl to girl...so funny. I spent a lot of my time there :snaphappy:

I don't go to much but it's more because I have no strength due to this condition.
But I would go to most events besides concerts or loud and close live music. I bring earplugs basically wherever I go in case I need them.
My T doesn't fluctuate in response to noise exposure or any other factor for that matter. It's always the same, not better not worse.
Of course, I'm very wary of further damage though and wear earplugs often.

I still go music events much less and just pick and choose like larger venues and festivals. I don't drink and just take precautions like stay at the back (often by myself though). Of course I wear Moulded earplugs. Yes it is a risk and tinnitus has progressively worsen through mainly via other spikes like lawn mowers and football matches. I cannot just cut out any form of enjoyment otherwise what's the point. You just have to be sensible.

I've been to concerts, movies, restaurants and all of that since my tinnitus.
I don't want to isolate my life because of the T.
I usually just measure the decibel and the use the right earplugs for the environment.
I even played in a band and rehearsed after I had my T one year ago. Altho I did use double protection then.

Why limit your life when you only live once? It's better to just adapt with the right earplugs and enjoy life :)
