Hi all
I went to a club to see a favourite act of mine. It was very loud in there, (I actually read later it is 110 dB - I was there for an hour and a half/ 2 hours) and when I left I my left ear which was closest to the speaker felt very full and muffled, and I generally couldn't hear anything until the next day.
What concerned me was there was another sound going on that seemed to match the bass frequencies. I couldn't tell if it was Diesel engines, or general rumbles of London but got home and went to bed.
The next day my hearing was back to normal and it thought no more of it. I went out to see a friend, and in the evening I came home to a horrendous buzzing in my house. I had heard it once or twice before, but this was constant. Randomly changed in pitch and was very loud.
After doing some fiddling around I realised that this noise was actually in my head. If I put my finger in my left ear, the right ear makes slight sounds. If I block the right ear the left sound is much more prominent and will play tones that alternate on different frequencies. If I shake my head side to side it goes away totally. The frequency is about 100 Hz. I'm confused about this low tone as I've never had it.
Why does it go when I put my fingers in my ears? How long will it take to go (if ever)?
It is not present when outside/around ambient noise. But it's annoying. It may have gotten slightly quieter, but has still been with me for two days now, and I can't find anyone else with a similar.
